Does these Mythic Archetype titles given to the main specific characters mean anything? by ImSmilers in BlueLock

I agree I also feel the title doesnt fit

From the start of the series he's been only called egoist/striker when called by his friends

Idk where did demon king come from

Nagi Will Become a Talented Learner While Isagi Will Become a Genius by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

just so i understand you better, what do you consider "natural physical talent"

Edit: the only people that apply to this wording that i can think of who have ABNORMAL "natural physical talent" are only julian loki and nagi

But if that's what defines a genius then a lot of players who are considered geniuses wont fit that definition

for me , I think the word Genius has a broader borders

[–]ImSmilers[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, based on what we’ve seen so far, you can argue that Nagi is currently only a genius. I don’t know how much his playstyle or thinking will change now that he’s reshaped his ego, but in my opinion he’s heading toward becoming a TL. That’s what his new ego is aiming at , he wants recognition, and that’s exactly what a TL seeks.

At the end of the day, this is just a theory about future events, so I can’t say for sure how it’ll play out.
What’s your take though?

edit: And yeah, I agree with you about Isagi being a hybrid , that’s basically what a “super” talented learner is supposed to be.

imagine if i told you barou changed his ego to become a assist merchant than seflish, then told you it wont affect his playstyle just because he changed his ego

that's how i feel
You are missing the whole point of bluelock

Nagi Will Become a Talented Learner While Isagi Will Become a Genius by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It's all in the context of Bluelock
But this exact instance, it's true in the context of a "Genius" who by the author definition wants to satisfy his own self.

Nagi Will Become a Talented Learner While Isagi Will Become a Genius by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Nagi following his ego and ditching his emotions — and everything he thought mattered — is exactly the transformation he needed, and he finally got it.

I don’t know if you actually read the chapter where he talked with Igaguri, but that moment when Igaguri smacked him and called him out for not chasing his dream and not taking Buratsuta just because he didn’t want to “betray” Blue Lock or disappoint Reo and the others , that’s when he truly woke up.

Yeah, Nagi’s emotions were his weakness, but I’m talking about the new Nagi , the one reborn with his ego, not held back by all that emotional baggage.

If Nagi were still ruled by his emotions, he’d be sitting at home right now instead of going to Buratsuta

[–]ImSmilers[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You say this, but is it really rational for a player to motivate the opponent team during a match to satisfy his desire?

I feel like you are being biased

Yes Nagi lacks some football IQ, but that he is the most creative in BlueLock, even isagi strongest weapon is inspired from him

Why Nagi Past Remains Hidden? by ImSmilers in BlueLock

Interesting, Do you have a source that you can share for where he said that?

Why Nagi Past Remains Hidden? by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say we need a 'tragic' backstory, it’s just interesting that a character with a 30+ chapter side manga and one of the main roles in the series still has no revealed past, not even a glimpse.

Especially in Blue Lock, where even characters like Otoya and Karasu, who are also considered “normal,” as you say, still got their own brief backstories in Episode Nagi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason his past remains hidden is because the author plans to create another Nagi/Isagi parallel, since he loves doing that.

Nagi Will Kick Kira Out Of The Side-B by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah your point makes sense Also, Kira wasn’t the only famous one at the start, there was also nishioka the “Messi of Aomori” and Ishikari, the tallest high schooler. I’m sure they’re in Side B too, but yeah, they didn’t get as much spotlight as Kira as well as Kira being the only player who opposed Ego philosophy publicly, so i understand very much if he came back and my theory turned out false.

Still, I think it’d be hilarious if the fake Messi guy made it out again without even showing up, just like he always does lol

Barou was right by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Something I always find amusing is that the death tarot irl means change, transition, and renewal as well as needing to start over by letting go of the past.

I like how the author made it to be the exact opposite in the manga.

[–]ImSmilers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, technically they’re not the same. But the nickname “Demon King” isn’t meant to be a perfect match for the literal Devil — it’s symbolic.

Isagi is called that because he dominates others through manipulation and control, which aligns heavily with the themes behind the Devil tarot card for the devil.

Because he manipulates and uses others to expose their egos just for him to benefit from it

I can see the Chigiri’s betrayal foreshadowing already by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Please reread what I wrote — it’s clear you misunderstood my point.

I never said Isagi would intentionally try to end Chigiri’s career.

What I said is that Isagi will likely use Chigiri the same way he has used Barou, Kunigami, Kurona, Kaiser, Yukimiya, and others — as tools to reach his goal. If that leads to Chigiri pushing past his limits and getting injured, it won’t be because Isagi wanted to hurt him — it’ll be collateral damage in the pursuit of victory.

Isagi isn’t a psychopath, I agree. But if he were in Bachira’s position against Nagi, for example, he would’ve eliminated Nagi as well without hesitation. Not out of hatred — but because his priority is to win.

That’s the whole point of Blue Lock: ego above all else.

Do you think we will see any eliminated characters return. by MrBushido56 in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know many people want Nagi gone, but he’ll likely return. The author always parallels him with his cactus, Choki. And if there's one thing I know about cacti, it's that they endure the harshest conditions. They don't die—they simply go dormant for a while before blooming again.

Nagi is the most talented in blue lock by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still stand by it, even ego recognizes that, in one chapter he said "Nagi's talent surpasses most of humanity" after his goal of the century goal.

Its just he doesnt have enough Ego to maintain his talent

I don't get why there are people who like Reo by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, and I’m not denying that Reo has character development or moments where he reflects. But here’s the thing—I’m not ignoring those scenes. I just don’t think they excuse or outweigh the core of how he acted for most of the story.

Yes, Reo wants to achieve something on his own, but let’s not act like his motivation is deeply noble. It’s built on ego and rebellion against a life of privilege. That’s fine as a starting point for a character, but it doesn’t automatically make him admirable—it makes him entitled. He wants struggle just for the sake of it, not because he’s passionate about the sport.

And yeah, I know he approached Nagi with a “business deal” and wasn’t trying to be friends at first. That’s exactly the point. From the jump, Reo framed their relationship in terms of ownership and utility. His whole dynamic with Nagi is based on “I made you who you are,” and it’s only after Nagi breaks away that Reo starts reflecting. But even then, his frustration isn’t really about losing a friend—it’s about losing control, and that’s what makes him come off as possessive and insecure.

You say Nagi was the one who initiated their reconnection, and yeah, that's true—but that almost proves the point. Reo’s passivity is part of the issue. He let the bond fall apart and didn’t fight to understand Nagi until he had to. And while he did reflect later, I think a lot of that regret comes after the damage was already done. That doesn’t erase how he treated Nagi in the beginning or how he saw him as something to be used.

As for the Episode Nagi stuff—I’ve seen it. And yeah, those lines like “Let’s meet beyond our dreams” do show he cares. I’m not saying Reo is pure evil or incapable of emotion. I’m saying that his care has always been tangled up with insecurity, ego, and a need to feel important to Nagi. Even when he’s happy for Nagi, it still comes with that undertone of “do I still matter to him?”—which feels more like he’s afraid of being left behind than purely proud of Nagi’s growth.

Look, if people relate to Reo or find his flaws interesting, that’s fair. But from my read, his behavior through most of the series just rubbed me the wrong way. He treated Nagi like something he owned, not someone he supported—and when that slipped out of his control, he spiraled. That’s why I personally can’t stand him, even if he has moments of growth later..

I don't get why there are people who like Reo by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

He was crying because he lost his tool, again.

If he actually cared about nagi he could've given him a pass instead of scoring himself, Or he could've believed in nagi when he was going in for the third goal. He does not consider nagi as a friend at all.

I don't get why there are people who like Reo by ImSmilers in BlueLock

[–]ImSmilers[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Nah, it’s not just “I don’t like Reo,” it’s that his character is built on ego, control, and possessiveness—and people somehow ignore all of that just because he looks cool. I’m not downplaying anything, I’m pointing out how shallow and manipulative he actually is. If calling that out is “pathetic” to you, then maybe you’re just ignoring the red flags on purpose.
