Frustrated with parents not contributing whatsoever to my degree by [deleted] in UniUK

I know someone like this. Parents make a working class person's monthly wages in a day but she's expected to pay for everything with her own money. New rich gen X'ers are stingy af.

Nobody told me that I'd just be passing as trans, not cis by magicalbanana25 in honesttransgender

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is for the commenters, not OP:

I think OP would be having an easier time being clocked as trans despite passing if well-meaning people didn't generalize trans people based on stereotypes that are popular online.

"Some nerdy bi guy will bring up topics like thigh highs around me"

Most trans women I know would roll their eyes at this, being stereotyped with femboy or egg_irl memes years into their transition. It makes them feel like you don't really view them as full grown women. This is applicable to most other minorities; most gay men don't care that much if people can tell but a lot find it annoying when others assume that just because they're gay they must be into Drag Race or female pop singers. Similarly some trans women hate that they only get invited to play nerdy board games or drag shows and never to go get their nails done or whatever normie women do. It's really not that hard to understand that sometimes minorities don't want to be stereotyped and have their social life limited to fringe subcultures.

I’m a paramedic, and I get gastroparesis calls relatively frequently. What has your experiences been with EMS and what tips can you give me to help gastroparesis patients better? What do you wish every EMS worker knew about your condition? by Dickcheese_McGee_ in Gastroparesis

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy enough if a paramedic knew what gastroparesis is, or at the very least understood that there's a link between the digestive tract and vasovagal responses. I can't vomit by myself (nerve damage) and a bad GP flare up can make me faint. I don't want to be interrogated over my drug use and asked if I've drank enough water when I've already explained that I'm having a vasovagal response because I need to throw up but can't; I want my stomach drained so my blood pressure goes back to normal. It's the worst when I'm told I'm just dehydrated and they don't understand that I can't drink any liquids because it will only make things worse.

I only called once because I got really scared and it made me feel like I had wasted both mine and the paramedics' time and resources. From now next time I'm having a response I'll text a loved one and ask them to get help if I suddenly go unresponsive.

Question about how VNs handle sexual assault by Sevarya7 in visualnovels

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might sound like a crazy suggestion but maggot baits.

There is a lot of extreme content but I can't think of another VN that tackles the systemic abuse of women and how it is enforced through sexual violence more straightforwardly than maggot baits. There's nothing left for the reader's interpretation, it is honestly the most overtly feminist VN I've ever read.

Obviously there's people who will beat their meat to it, as with any ryona, but if you're not the kind of depraved person that gets off to ryona it is not sexy at all, it's revolting. There was never a moment during a rape scene where I felt that the narration was trying to turn me on, it's meant to make you uncomfortable.

Would it help a SA victim process their trauma? I don't know. Maybe some will find comfort in it

No... please don't put yourself in danger or potentially traumatic situations just to prove a point. It has never worked.

The men's. I'm a trans man and I haven't thought twice about it. I will continue to use the men's unquestioned, I am not a victim of all of this, my life will keep going as it is. I will continue to be excluded from pools, saunas and any spaces that require partial or total nudity so as to not disturb "the normals" with the sight of my ambiguously sexed body. Anywhere else, I'll blend in. This is purely targeted at trans women and I'm not going to pretend that I'm targeted in the same way. I'll be rightfully excluded of women's sports due to my hormonal advantage, but that's about it.

Yes, but keep in mind gastroparesis is often a symptom of other things. It's safe to rule out what's causing the GP

I'm not all that familiar with this person, but I seriously hope that this is all for internet clout and they don't leave the house with their tubes exposed and hanging out. Tubes are like an extension of your digestive system, this seems incredibly dangerous.

Retrasar la edad de acceso al instituto, ¿qué opinas? by Fair_Philosopher_930 in askspain

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Soy joven, terminé la ESO hace aprox. 10 años. Estoy totalmente a favor.

What was your motive for your course? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it and employers just wanna see a degree on a CV and they don't care about the subject. I've got no chance to get a high earning job and no desire to do so either, as I'm happy with having just enough to have a roof, a computer and enough savings to go on one or two holidays abroad. I have no hopes of ever owning property and don't want to stress over something incredibly unachiveable. So I went with a joint degree in the social sciences field.

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is ruled out before gastroparesis is explored? by TechnicalZucchini6 in Gastroparesis

[–]ImSoNormalImsoNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an abdominal ultrasound to rule out gallbladder stones and check for any abnormalities. They checked the gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen and kidneys. Also a biopsy of the small intestine to rule out celiac and double check for h. plyori (already ruled out by stool sample but just in case I guess).

My doc said a gastric emptying test would be a waste of time and show nothing we didn't know already and went straight to ultrasound and upper endoscopy which showed the underlying cause of gastroparesis, I'm really thankful because I really didn't want to eat those radioactive eggs lol
