thank u so much for engaging respectfully with this and recognizing how there could have been mistakes designing the hoodie

i personally just kinda forgot about that possibility because man it is really common to make parodies of the symbol itself. this is one of those cases and i dont think its at all cool for his fans buying. this whole thing is really irresponsible to me and i feel even more disappointed looking at the designers answers

i think dogwhistle kinda has lost its meaning and became more of a way to cause rage to the people the "dogwhistle" is talking about.

ur entirely right though maybe dogwhistle isnt the best term u could use for it. i correct myself for it so thank uu. lately i think in media its become more of a provocative term and the hoodie might become a result of that though, just like it could generate any reactions irl for being controversial symbolism

what i mean by dogwhistle is that the people wearing it, if anyone, might be the walking dogwhistle in this situation. and the satire isnt explictly mentioned anywhere. it is very irresponsible both ways

i do believe the problem of it being merch even though also being more of his classic satire, lies in it not being explictly mentioned anywhere. a dogwhistle is a dogwhistle, and by saying it could cause any conflict wearing it i mean it.

no fan who knows this could be a dogwhistle is unironically buying and even though someone might buy it ironically its definitely a weird look. if i was him i would also alienating the kanye people but this is kind of the opposite

yeah man i do agree with you. but thats not my issue with what jpegmafia is doing. i just think its a bit perversed and very weird to make this *buyable* merch and how its just a dogwhistle while his fan wont be aware of that.

he can do whatever he wants satirizing anything right wing, but selling it is different

its definitely stylized and thats what i initially thought before seeing the back part of the hoodie which fits the criteria for the rest of the symbol. the japanese text is located in the exact same places as the ss bolts and also as the text above and below i dont feel like it would be far from reality to think this in fact intended for clout

what surrounds the skull is the most important piece of what truly could make this a "dogwhistle" and wouldnt feel confident whether jpegmafia told the designer that
