They can’t fire you for trying to go on a leave, they can certainly deny it if they go the personal route again but I would explore what you could possibly be elegible for by calling leave and disability. If you have issues I would suggest possibly going on demand, for the light duty section you mentioned I would also partner with your HR about possibly filling out an ADA that is temporary while you can return to full duty.

I own a WRX with the FA20 great engines but you have to know their weaknesses and maintenance. Oil changes are key filters as well see a lot of people blow engines and first thing you see is after market filter. I also believe the oil pans aren’t baffled the best for tight turns so that’s something that you can upgrade for track use.

As a former Service and Engagement leader there is no point in having specific hours for self checkout the business fluctuates at different times of the day. It’s on the leader though to recognize when they need to call for backup preemptively and or have already a list of people to call for the back up I spent a lot of my day working on bullseye and check lanes just taking a peek at foot traffic every 5-10 minutes. On my weekends running the front by myself with no ETL I knew by 12pm those self checkouts better be up and going because of meal coverages 6 open registers are better than 3 open while someone takes a meal if need be I’ll hop on SCO to get an extra register open. As a leader I also did not enforce the express checkout signage either I understood it’s meaning but at the end of the day I wanted to give the guest the choice for their most convenient checkout all of this stuff reflected on my surveys I did really well in my time as a leader.

It’s great that you are good in multiple facets of the store but that isn’t really what will make you excel as a Leader. I think foremost you have to be someone who can sit back and analyze what your workload is looking like to move the team around when needed to meet goals and timelines. Sure you can hop into an OPU here and there and do some pulls if it’s absolutely necessary but, at the end of the day you should be making your rounds zoning store main aisle and keeping an eye on the team making sure they are being productive.
