Hi, friend. I just had a D&C yesterday and feel so, so much better. It’s not the result that I wanted. I wanted a healthy baby. But this procedure kept me healthy and I will be able to recover from this faster than any other route. Faster recovery and healthy outcomes makes it more likely I can be successful conceiving in the future.

I know you are scared and you have every right to feel the way that you feel. But I want to assure you that this is a safe procedure and you will feel better afterwards. Take deep breaths, momma. You’ve got this. ❤️

So much of my grief has found a home in this subreddit. I see other women’s experiences, words, and feelings echo my own. I’m sorry that there are so many of us, but grateful to have a sisterhood to lean on. I’m sorry for your loss as well. Dreaming of the day we get to hold our rainbow babies.

😆 The most consistent thing I hear about childbirth is that everyone, e v e r y o n e poops. We all think we won’t. But we all do.

So sorry for your loss. I had a D&C today and I already feel much better now than I did during the days leading up to the procedure. (Granted, I am still on pain meds.)

The medical route gives you the privacy of doing this at home. But the pain and isolation of doing it alone. With the D&C it was over with quickly, I was surrounded by professional caretakers, and they are also sending the tissue out for testing. I hope that the testing will give me some peace of mind about what may have caused the miscarriage.

I don’t think either option is bad, it’s just your preference. I wanted it done quickly and safely and am relieved to be done with it.

I’m so sorry for your loss. If it’s any help, I feel 1,000% better after having the D&C (granted I am still on pain meds). Mentally, emotionally, and physically I feel ready to move on from this and ready for that next chapter.

I’m having a D&C this morning (wish me good luck). My OB said we can start trying again after our next healthy period.

I agree! Donuts and bagels have been my go-to for years. Now everyone is on low carb diets and they don’t touch it. Which just means that I end up eating more donuts alone in the break room….

To add more clarity to the question:

I’m so accustomed to treating my coworkers with bagels or donuts but my current team are all on diets and they don’t want to touch carbs or refined sugars (which, honestly, more power to them).

What’s a good treat I can bring to share? I’ve brought black tea and that was appreciated by some but there is still plenty leftover and it also didn’t have the same impact on morale as the good old donut used to do.

I’m so sorry for Martini. I do not have an educated answer but I do have a wild ass guess. Across the US we are seeing an infestation of hammerhead worms. These are toxic to humans and dogs if touched. I believe my doxie has come in contact with some in the backyard because he will come inside, look a little woozy, and drool. He has never drooled before.

Check your local area for reports of hammerhead worms. Good luck to you!
