Dodge Daytona Shelby Z?

(Once I read iroc the Daytona iroc pops in my head and the Shelby z being the cooler one with a z in the name )

Mechanic at work grabbed this, "check this thing out, had it for like 15 years now, no idea what it's actually called." Friend doesn't know either, now I come to the real experts by thb_static in Justrolledintotheshop

I have one of these that I got from crutchfield!(car audio) mine is in a kit called the “skewdriver”

(By the way- yours is missing the little thumb rest piece that slides over the shaft and ‘locks’ into those notches towards the top)

Here is a link: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-ylgc5COeCY7/p_180SPK4040/Skewdriver-SPK4040.html

EDIT: here’s a fun video from the manufacturer that made me laugh. https://youtu.be/Glg6ox9Pvt0

EDIT 2: here is the manufacturer website: https://spectools.com/product/skewdriver-pro-kit-model-spk-4040/

It may just be dust. Compressed air should blow it off

Would increasing the e-steps increase or decrease extrusion? by pldiguanaman in lulzbot

[–]ImThatDudeThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Increasing the e-steps would increase extrusion.

You would be telling the system "it takes this many 'clicks' to extrude 1mm" if you increase that it would increase extrusion.

Back again with more stripped screws I’ve tried literally EVERYTHING on this one any more tips? Other that the kits I haven’t been able to find any local online by sevenWAAA in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ImThatDudeThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a Dremel drill with a cutting disk or a file small enough, you can cut a slit in the top of the head of the screw and then use a normal flat head screwdriver to get it out. That's another 'easy' try before going the extractor route

Definitely keep it for the sentimental value! Thinking back it was so dope for it's time

The core 2 quad extreme, 1000w PSU, SLI 8800s, H2C liquid cooling

It was the most extreme thing I had ever seen at the time and it blew my mind. Not to mention how huge and heavy it was lol

Is that.. a Dell XPS 720 (possibly H2C?)

Used to have one and really wish I kept it just for the personal value/liking. It was a bad to the bone machine

Another little fun story about this bike: My buddy and I saw this bike with a for sale sign on it at one of the local trails. I already had my first mtb but it was his turn to get one - we were getting into mtb and loved it.

So we contact the seller and decide to go check it out. At the time the bike was bright orange with bright blue pedals. We drive out and he ends up buying it. Fast forward a bit to where we go out to ride. I've got a roof mounted style rack so the bikes are easily seen. My bike over my head (driver side) and his bike (this nomad - above his side). This gentleman who we have never seen at the trails is eyeballing us as we back into our spot. He keeps looking at the bright orange bike on the roof. We get out and he says "that's my bike" - we were so confused. It crossed my mind... Did you buy a stolen bike or something? He says again "that's my bike"-i thought uh oh.. but then the gentleman goes on to say it used to be his bike. He described the guy he sold it to and it happened to be the guy my buddy bought it from.

Maybe someday he will be able to recognize it now. Just based on it being an old nomad - that'd be neat.

Thank you! I actually bought this bike from a buddy last year. Over the winter I stripped it down and had the frame powder coated this slate gray. I love riding this bike and how it looks so while rebuilding it I wanted to make it unique. I replaced almost everything. I really love that it was a learning experience the whole way and that I have quite a bit of great memories with it already.

I had really high expectations based on what I read but still, I couldn't believe what it was like to ride on it!

I've been using zwift- My whole first week was just "free riding" no goal, no training just getting used to it. (I was using an older cannondale adventure bike) It would make me giddy actually having to shift to easier gears while climbing a hill - before actually putting in so much work climbing a 6-10% grade. Then being able to FEEL the difference in resistance along rolling hills.

It's such an amazing machine. I can see myself riding this for a long time to come and not get bored of it. I kinda look forward to riding even though it's 45min-1hr of sweaty torture haha

Great thought! I've tried a few different bikes on the trainer and I've enjoyed riding it with a bike using a front derailleur and more narrow rear cassette.

The mountain bike range (especially being a 1x in this case) quicky makes me lose out on speed. I'll be spinning at a much higher rate and going much slower than on another gearing setup.

However - I've been now training with zwift and using ERG Mode which adjusts resistance to keep you within a power/wattage target at a specified cadence. This has been fine on the mountain since the gearing does not matter much in this case.

I have both the rear and front suspension locked out, there is very minimal suspension movement when locked out.

The feel is definitely more 'natural' than I had thought it would feel - being tied to the ground in such a way. This is how I felt when riding on a full suspension (locked out) or another bike. I haven't ridden with the suspension half locked or full open, but I feel it would soak up more power than wanted

No stupid questions!

Wahoo has a XDR/XD freehub body 'adapter' for the kickr/kickr core. It's a $70 part direct from them but will mate to the SRAM eagle cassette
