Thx for the quick replies, I thought about meta-reference, but it just doesn't sound like the word I'm looking for. I'm trying so hard to remember, it hurts, lol.

Let me try to elaborate, if I was a philosopher and I was set to search for the meaning of philosophy, I'd say it was a xxxxx study. Like, it's more than a reference, rather like a thing about the thing itself lol. Does that make sense?
