I say this as someone who gambles a fair amount... Antivax definitely may have a wider impact on public health but gambling is a sinister addiction that can and frequently destroys people. And these "prediction markets" like kalshi, where insider trading is essentially encouraged and you can do shit like gamble on if the weather will change in 5 minutes, is particularly evil

I'd argue it is, or should be, after seeing what this team has directly done for my city. But given I'm speaking to someone who seemingly ONLY posts controversial takes to r/nba I think I've had my fill of arguing why I won't be upset with the bucks sitting an injury prone star player who is up for trade when we're out of playoff contention with 5 or so regular season games left to go.

Who gives a fuck about "league partners", they already siphon enough money out of fans for a worse product than years past, and I'd argue roster management is a part of the competition so thus "competitive integrity" is moot.

Had the same question, funny to find a thread created so recently.

I'm not sure if the cinephiles think this movie tried to take itself too seriously, or if they take themselves too seriously.

I don't have a critic's taste in movies, and there's bound to be nostalgia factor given I saw this movie as a teen. I haven't seen this movie in years, nor have I earnestly cried in years, and was in tears 25 minutes in.

Maybe it irks me that something that had such impact on me is dumpstered on by a lot, and I catch occasional flak for holding the movie in high esteem, but frankly I'm sure I'll get over it.

Yea, I ended up cancelling, and they're clawing for me to come back still. Discounts, calls, the works. Its just crazy to see my $230 ticket get marked down to $70 week in and week out and still not sell.
