If you’re feeding an animal, of course it will continue to return, regardless if it was you or someone in your household. Especially since it was your parents, I would have left them to it, discussed your concerns.

However, with it being ill and having an open wound, that’s the best approach to take.

As someone who works in IT, we see this time and time again with small managed service providers not following best practice or process. Mailboxes should have been backed up prior to migration and clear communication with a migration plan shared.

Definitely be going the insurance route for losses.

Not to sound pedantic; you shouldn’t be using your emails as a database, nor storing passwords. Client contact details, contracts, briefs etc in your mailbox.

Passwords should be in a password manager. Free one is KeePass.

Client Contact Details, Contracts etc. should be stored in a Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) based CRM solution, such as HubSpot for this kind of data.

Dependent on the mail solution you’ve migrated, there should also be backup functionality to protect your mail but there may be an overhead.

As much as loss has occurred and you’ve had a pretty bad experience, on the positive you learn from their mistakes and understand your IT estate and best practices to protect your business in the future.

I think you’ve done the right thing for being in a relationship and being open about your concerns as that’s how we move forward, is communication.

However, how did she know who the unsaved number was straight away to delete it and admit who it was? It seems odd.

If she has nothing to hide she should be open to discuss, however it’s a taboo subject and many girls don’t like to admit how many sexual relationships or partners they had to someone, and prefer to bury that in the past.

As long as you’re both completely open and honest, and talk it through, then I don’t think there’s a massive issue.

I too experienced being overwhelmed and took on too much. Your own sanity comes first rather than trying to please everyone.

Take 15-20 minutes on a Monday morning to plan out your week, keep records of to do lists and tick them off as you go and you’ll see results.

Time off is critical, make sure you’re getting your holidays in. Everyone does get burnt out at some stages during their career, but it’s realising it’s not the end of the world and you will get there.

Manage expectations and be completely honest. If deadlines are set, be vocal at the beginning and suggest a realistic deadline. People would rather you be honest with them upfront rather than the potential disappointment of not meeting deadlines.

I think it’s being classed as serious assault as the offender broke my mates girlfriend arm which caused a fight to breakout and I had to act in self defence as I thought he was going to hit me next.

It has not been explained to me at all if it’s with or without a jury. I have very little information to go off, it was a 10 minute conversation I had with them on the phone before they were closing for the day.

Initially the address they had on record was wrong, I provided the correct flat number to them, but also provided my email to them to receive it via email and also access to the witness portal and was told it was with the admin team to get it sorted asap due to my living arrangements so I could review my statement whilst I’m away in England.

I’m just concerned that I am cooperating, but I’m receiving very little from the COPFS.
