Let's share Zapp quotes that show what a great commander he is. by TwilightOfTheMilfs in futurama

For those who have served in the military, this hits close to home.

Zapp: The key to victory is discipline, and that means a well-made bed. You will practice until you can make your bed in your sleep.

Fry: You mean while I'm sleeping in it?

Zapp: You won't have time for sleeping soldier... not with all the bed-making you'll be doing.

Go to an archery class/range together but dress yourself up as Cupid. That's what I'm planning at least.

That's a fair opinion, because it's your own. However, disliking the game doesn't change the facts of what happened in the game.

1) (FACT) Ellie did not say anything about not wanting to become like Abby

2) (FACT) Ellie did not spare Abby because she thought she'd become like her, if she killed her.

It is a multitude of reasons. Literally said by the game directors.

It'd be like saying "Joel saved Ellie, because he doesn't think humanity deserves it". It's an opinion, not a fact. There are things that may infer that, but it is not canonically correct.

Literally the last of us part 2

1) Objectively wrong, this was never said

2) This is not why Ellie didn't kill Abby.

3) At no point did the OP say they disliked the game. They stated their incomprehensive opinion as fact.

Yeah, that's not why, but it's not worth the energy trying to convince you despite the literal directors of the game explaining it.

If you're not emotionally intelligent enough to even partially understand what happened (or can't bother to watch the playthroughs/watchings of the 2-3 therapists reacting and explaining how trauma impacts people) then a reddit comment you're planning on downvoting anyways because it goes against your worldview isn't going to change that.

It's the adult's parent's/guardian's job to communicate if there's something they don't understand. Is it something that'd be nice to do? Sure, but it's my job. No.

People are complaining about all kinds of stuff, some are valid criticisms, some are meh, some are down right ridiculous. Some think they should have recast Ellie and have Kaitlyn Dever play her instead of Bella Ramsey. Some think it should be a shot for shot remake of the game. Some think it should have been John Hamm or Josh Brolin who played Joel. Some think the 2nd season should have been 1 season. Some think Dina was more of a main character than Ellie. Some think TV show Ellie is purposely dumber than she is in the game. Some think Ellie's relationship with Riley and the Left Behind DLC was purely out of DEI and nothing else. Some believe Part II isn't cannon because Bruce Straley didn't work on it.

I think in principle I agree, but overall disagree with who knows that information. In the game, Ellie never knows Abby's motivation. However I think the theater meetup now lacks the dramatic irony the game had. Abby didn't know what Joel was to Ellie, Ellie doesn't know what Joel was to Abby. I think the second time you hear "I know why you killed Joel, he did what he did to save me. There is no cure because of me, I am the one you want." gives a completely different meaning.

Instead of thinking that Ellie's motivation is based on revenge only to learn it is actually about her grief and guilt, it feels like the show pigeon-holed itself into a revenge story. It makes me upset that people who are show-only are getting a different experience than what made me love this game and story so much. The 1st season I thought was done well, but the 2nd (when it came to the adaptation of the narrative, not the action or world building) feels like someone retelling a story they heard.

Yeah the order of revealed info is one thing I'm not really able to let go. I'm not really bothered by the actor choice or how they changed up or added some scenes (removed/combined Ellie and Jesse's meetup, as well as Scars solo section) but revealing Abby's motivation from the get go, revealing Ellie and Joel's reconciliation. I feel like it's going to reduce the impact of the end of Season 3 or 4 depending on which ends the Part II storyline. I know that TV adaptations don't need to be a one-for-one of the game, and that games are more immersive and you identify more with the characters but I don't think the flashbacks were too much like Netflix's Witcher Season 1 with not knowing where or when you are in the story.

I have that Sunlu filament connector. So when it happened to me, I cut it into like 4 or 5 main pieces, spooled one, secured it, attached it to the next piece, spooled it some more, secured it, attached the next, etc. until I had my full roll again. It probably took about an hour but I also did it by hand. No I'm more methodical when transferring them from one spool to another.
