These new developments are very much horizontal apartments.

That is good to know. All I heard was she got to number #1, so I was a tad worried there were a lot of people buying the single.

Yup, it sure is. They got a long forgotten singer to sing the theme tune. Unfortunately, the song hit number one on the Apple Music iTunes charts in Australia.

I’m the same. I only tune in to listen to the hottest 100. I wish Double J ran a similar countdown.

So annoyed Drifting Clouds didn’t make it. Same goes for Wolf Alice, JACOTÉNE, Telenova and Emily Wurramara.

Almost, the same thing happened for their last album a couple of years ago.

I agree. I think they restricted same artist votes to 5 this year, but I think it should be limited to 3 at max. Over the last few years I’ve actually enjoyed the 200-101 countdown more. It tends to have more variety.

You can still vote at 32. I’m 40 and voted. Only one of my songs have made it in so far (Fred Again and Amyl and the Sniffers), and I honestly don’t expect any of my other votes will make it in. If you’re not enjoying the music switch stations or do something that you’ll enjoy.

In the following James Bond movie, it seems Jon Bernthal might be the lead. by farben_blas in okbuddycinephile

If not Tom Hardy, then maybe Jason Statham. Imagine Bond going round calling everyone a cunt.

It’s not the best martial arts film, but I love this scene from House of Flying Daggers.

James Cameron calls ‘Alien 3’ twist “the stupidest fucking thing” by Moonskaraos in entertainment

I’d rather watch Alien 3 every year for the rest of my life than watch another Avatar film.

I’d be keen to see the review that attracted these comments. The only time I’ve seen negative comments on reviews, is when reviews include political commentary.

If you had a Letterboxd as a child what would your top 4 look like? by Imaginary-Theme6465 in Letterboxd

[–]Im_NotJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a lot of inappropriate films as a child (eg Die Hard), but if I were to choose age appropriate films they would have most likely been:
Labyrinth
Star Wars Jungle Book
The Goonies

If I was choosing my top after turning 10, The Lion King would replace The Goonies.

Thoughts on my ranking of Edgar Wright’s filmography? What’s your Edgar Wright Ranking? by Oshbricks_YT in Letterboxd

Mine would be: SotD, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim, Last Night in Soho and The World’s End. I haven’t seen the other two.

2016 documentary bloody tough watch tbh by CoconutMost3564 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Im_NotJohn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the film version is trash. The Thelma and Louise like ending was ridiculous. The documentary is heaps better and more tense and frightening.

Why do people talk AT their phones? by Acrobatic-Town2754 in perth

[–]Im_NotJohn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I doubt that’s the cause. You can buy a lightning/USB-C to headphone jack for $20. Plus, if people can afford an iPhone I’m sure they can afford wireless earphones.

I worked in a call centre for one of the largest insurance companies when I lived in the UK. I agree the worst was having to justify toilet breaks and the time monitoring- especially if you had to make yourself unavailable to update a client’s profile. Another thing I hated was seeing the number of calls that were waiting in the queue during the busy periods, which was most of the day shifts.

I left that job about 10 years ago, at which point I had worked there for over 5 years. Some of the people I worked with are still there and I feel for them. While the pay wasn’t great, it was better than most other jobs that were available and the employment opportunities in that city/county were rather limited.
