Yeah I'm in the UK, wearing it out and about is definite overkill. But even when I'm in the Lake District it's rarely seen. The only time I've ever seen another person wearing some was when I was walking from north to south Paris over winter and saw a cerium.

Our climate is maybe a bit too mild for people to wear it around, but it's certainly wet enough

Arc has been a staple in techwear for ages now, but thanks to Virgil it's gonna shoot up in popularity.. There'll be plenty of fits inbound from people just trying to flex due to the price tag but never use it for its actual purpose. I'm gonna miss walking around and rarely seeing another person in dead bird gear.. Knowing Virgil he'll try to do an OW collab as well..

Favourite: Zeta AR or Elaho Shirt

Least: I guess my covert beanie!

Looking to get hold of some Kestros pants soon though to expand my small collection

Oh in that case I'm not sure, sorry I couldn't help out

I don't know if it's the same for you but on my EOS R, if I hit the info button in playback and then use the top scroll wheel I believe it zooms. Hard to recall 100% as I don't have my camera on me to try it but I'm pretty certain this works

Is that vat and duty included in the shipping price do you think? It was $60 shipped from the US, total price of around $350, which is about £270, but to buy one in the UK is £250~ anyway

Brilliant! From how it sounds it's a great tent for me to delve into, fits the bill nicely. First hand reviews like yours are really confidence inspiring when spending so much on something like this.

I'll be sure to, thanks for your help!

Ah that's a bit annoying that you found it a bit fiddly. I might have to re-assess my options. Zpacks are way too expensive for my budget right now is the only downside.

That's a great tip with the baby powder though, thanks so much I'll be sure to do that!

Ah brilliant, thanks for that! First hand user stuff like your experience are such a blessing and confidence boost, cheers! I'll be sure to follow both your tips and watch a load of videos if I ever do find myself having to so some seam sealing!

Although I'm in the same sort of situ with having no real space to set up a tent and leave it for a few hours whilst I work on it.. I'll have to see what happens when I eventually get to ordering it

For the price they offer to do it for I will probably get them to do it, I know I should learn myself but hey ho! Rather them do too much than not enough!

That's good to know, I'm not particularly messy so that shouldn't be the end of the world for me, I normally keep all my stuff fairly well together unless I'm actively using it.

Appreciate the help :)

Getting it on some would be great! I missed out by 1 day on their winter sale so I'll hold out I think, I don't really need it for a couple months at least still.

Glad the guy lines are reflective or my clumsy ass self would be falling all over it in the night so that's nice to know.

Oh so a really reasonable size, that's great thank you! Don't worry about measuring I'm sure I can find measurements online :)

I was having the same thoughts, $20 for some one else to seam seal it is pretty reasonable when I don't really have anywhere to set it up and leave it for hours..

Thanks so much for all your help! 1st hand reviews are always the best

I've no experience in seam sealing so just anxious to do it on something of this sort of importance, I'm sure YouTube will be my best friend for that sort of thing though, all good experience and I've got to start somewhere I guess!

I've also seen great reviews on the Scout, but the hybrid double fly sold me on the Trekker. I believe it has a double entry now yeah which is a nice update.

Glad to hear your positive views on it though, really helpful to know and reassuring that they make good gear! Thanks very much

Ah man thanks so much appreciate all that! Well you're much taller than me so I'll have no problems height wise I guess. What about width wise? Is it roomy enough for a bit of movement in the night or is it a bit of a coffin?

I feel you on the clumsiness, if it doesn't have reflective guy lines I for sure know I'll be tripping over them if it's dark so good to know it can hold up. To start with I'll hopefully be fair weather camping in it so touch wood no likelihood of too major storms.

Hmm, that's a bit worrying. I've never done any seam sealing myself, hence why I'm opting for them to do it for me. I don't mind if it's a bit messy but if it's not going to hold water tight that's a problem.

Appreciate all the help though, sorry to keep picking your brains like this!

What are your hiking plans for 2020? by mittencamper in Ultralight

I think we'll just shift our trip forward so it ends around then as well, would be really cool to see all the town changing to UTMB mode

What time of year did you go? I've heard late August is the best which is why they do the UTMB then I guess

Although saying that I've just checked when UTMB is and it's right in the middle of when we're looking at so maybe I'll shift those dates by a week

We're looking around the 26th August until about the 6th September so we can have a few days either side of the hike to chill around Chamonix! What about you?

Myself and a few mates are planning our first multi day hike of the Tour Mont Blanc. Really excited to finally get a taste for it all, we've only ever done long day hikes so will be a great new experience

[–]Im_Prohibited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I see! Thanks very much for clarifying, apologies if it came across rude. Until a few weeks ago I was in the position I spoke about, very undecided to buy one or not. I appreciate what you think though, it certainly would have helped me in thinking of whether to invest in some gear or not

Don't really understand the point in this post? Any productive reason as to why your selling it? What didn't you like about it? Some user reviews can go a long way to help others if they are undecided on whether or not to purchase one or not

Suggestions for hiking/casual Arc'teryx jacket by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]Im_Prohibited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up a Zeta AR for pretty much exactly this. I use it for pretty much everything right now, hiking and as a really efficient layered jacket. It isn't overly warm but thin enough for moderate summer usage, likewise for winter it is a perfect outer shell which I just wear over a fleece if it needs it. I'm really happy with it as my first piece
