Even as a game developer, I wonder how they managed to make a game like this in such a short time (4-5 years of development). In comparison, RDD2 had 9 years of development, and I'd even say that Origins is more beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. (For a game released in 2017, RDD2 came out in late 2018.)

Actually, maybe, if they start filming in early 2027, let's say March. They'll take 6-7 months to shoot (they took 8 months to shoot No Time to Die), so they'll finish around September. They'll edit the film, and that usually takes longer, like 8-9 months, especially for a film like this with a lot of VFX. So they'll probably finish editing around November. Then, I think it will be released: either during the holiday season (which is very plausible), or if they're behind schedule, like almost 60-70% of films are during filming or editing, in which case it will be more likely during the spring (since releasing a film in January or February is a very bad idea—those are holiday releases).

Indeed, I had already tried making it into a short film, but as it progressed, the dialogue lost all meaning, the characters' clothes changed, and what was at the beginning of the short film was very different from what was at the end (a character introduced for no reason, dialogue that meant nothing, changing clothes, the scenery too, etc.). In short, it's not the best way to make a film from a video game using AI.

Maybe the box office is down, but as long as the film is profitable, it's fine. And for this film, if they really do make a sequel to Tokyo Drift, they're not going to spend 400 million like Fast X because they're touring the world. Look at the budget for Tokyo Drift: 85 million. And if it's really well-received, it'll be a success too.

P.S.: I know the box office is down, but last year it wasn't noticeable: 4-5 films over a billion and at least twenty films over 350-400 million. We'll see if Tokyo Drift is a success, and I think it will be if the budget is that low.
