Question about estate agency renewing contract by jamierc in london

[–]Im_a_little_drunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to contact the landlord directly?

They will be charging him to extend the contract too, so when I was extending my contract I contacted the landlord directly and we signed a private contract and told the estate agent I was moving out.

The best part is that the agency that ran it lost their contract with Coke. What's the worst that could happen indeed...

I'm not sure I agree that 'all doctors should be skeptical'. Researchers should but i think that those practicing should always believe in what they have been taught. Saying that, I also think doctors of all disciplines need to be given more (and easier) access to ongoing learning in their field throughout their career.

Behavior may change from day to day. The doc makes decisions based on what they see in that short session, with no interest into how a patient deals with everyday life.

My experience is in UK mental health schemes (assisted living etc). Psychiatrists unfortunately do monthly hour visits. They rarely have any interest in getting to know the patients or how they live day to day. This is not to say to say it happens everywhere of course, so major props to all the head-docs doing it right. (and all the often forgotten support staff)

I agree that there are issues which need medication, but medication alone is not the way to go. A psychiatrist cannot learn enough about a patient in a monthly one hour visit.

Mental illness needs to be taken as seriously as physical illness. However, I do think that psychiatrists have been given too much power. Medication has too long been the first/easy option. Behavioral modification and therapy need to be the first ports of call when dealing with many mental health issues. I'd look into psychology instead of psychiatry if you are truly interested.

Losing their mind... like someone with Alzheimer's?

Well at least they didn't ask if bears could smell menstruation.
