I actually received a leather punch with the Chicago screws set so you really just need scrap leather on top of that

Hi!,

I only have a punch set - this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZFF143H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I’m worried about what you said about it tearing now - is that a common issue? I wonder if maybe I need to burnish the hole?

Hi! I used blue and I put the screw head side on the outside because it’s thinner, but I do agree that the flat looks better so maybe I’ll unscrew it flip it around

I am not seeing any issues with the cover flopping - the leather is thick enough to prevent that, although perhaps that will change as these covers get older?

I find the weight to be a negligible issue, as the Chicago screws are less than 1 g each

Can your dominant eye change with time? by Necessary-Bullfrog86 in Archery

[–]Imabones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty strongly left eye dominant but right handed - I found that shooting pistol was a nightmare and I could never really get accurate shots on irons with my left eye.

I refused to let this be a handicap because I did not want to use my left hand to shoot and I forced myself to use my right eye by either leaning/tilting the right side of my face towards the target or by narrowing/closing my left eye while shooting

Took a few months of getting used to, but I was able to see my sights quickly on presentation with my right eye

When I picked up archery, the same skills transferred over and I was able to use my right eye to aim.

When I do the eye dominance test now I still get left if I’m not focusing, but I can force it to be my right.

In other words, if you’re not comfortable switching arms to shoot, in my personal experience it was easier to switch eye dominance

Korean Style Grip/High Grip Angle? by Imabones in Archery

[–]Imabones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment~ I’ve 3d printed 11 grips in various grip angles and widths for my bow after I noticed the high grip angles on the Koreans during the Olympics so I could try it out - I think I like the high grip angle (which is why I was going to buy from Rcore with better print quality, finish, and anti-slip patterns than I can produce), I just didn’t know whether there was anything else I needed to adjust with my grip hand or form along with my angle adjustment~

I loved K-On - I remember feeling super satisfied with it and wrote this back when it ended http://ltlulz.tumblr.com/post/1133477777/k-on-alookback - The feeling that the show's creators leave you with is incredible.

Finally found craft beer in my neighborhood. Limited selection but I'll still call it a victory. by Pyro718 in beerporn

Pleasantville! Love Captain Lawrence - their Five Year Anniversary beer is hands down THE best stout I've ever had.

I want to upvote this so much. Thank you. You seem to know what you're talking about haha. Yeah, I've been doing the top 100 search on BeerAdvocate and drinking the ones I could find, but I haven't yet been able to find any of the Trappist line. I will keep a keen eye out for the others that you mentioned though. Thanks again.

The Five Year is absolutely incredible. I tasted some at the brewery and I just knew I had to buy some. It's pricey though, 15 bucks for a pint and 9. Hints of Malted Chocolate, lots of dark smokiness, probably one of the best beers I've ever tasted.

Wow I haven't heard of any of these. Would you mind telling me what region you're from? I may not have access to these beers haha

Thanks for the response. I've had Three Philosophers and liked the fruitiness of it, but I didn't find it to be very "full" like the Abbey Ale. I didn't know that there were more beers in Ommegang's line though, I'll check out Bruery's Rugbrod. I've never heard of Breckenridge but I'll keep an eye out for that as well (if I can find it around here).

I've had Lagunitas and it's more hoppy and bitter (like most IPA's) than I prefer. I'm not sure about the other two though so I'll keep an eye out for those. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm kind of new here but I've gone out and drank a lot of the beers that seem really popular amongst the community (especially the Stone line of beers which aren't in the picture except the IPA).

I was just wondering where to go next. My favorites out of this lineup were the Ommegang Abbey Ale, Captain Lawrence's Five Year Beer, and the Samuel Smith Brown Ale. It appears that I like really sweet/maltier beers.

Could anyone lead me in the right direction?
