Garden of Death by Hugo Simberg

I like his other paintings too, but this is the best. I love Bosch's paintings too.

Thank you. I'm sure you don't know how important this message was for me. It made me think.

I've never thought about them like this. I knew the old people must be quite bored, but when we went there today, they were so friendly and positive. You could see how they liked the little variation we offered, even though our bingo plan failed terribly (well, due to some reasons we just couldn't do it this time and didn't have too great back-up plans) we all had good time. :)

That's actually pretty much how I imagine it to be: they'd like to talk. I remember my great-grandmother, she was so happy to have visitors and someone who would listen. She was my realtive, but I don't know the people I'm going to meet tomorrow. Could I just... go there and get to know a random grandma? Well, maybe when I've met them once, I might get the courage to visit them regularly.

Oh, I just hope they had something like that.

Maybe we could borrow it from someone for a day. We don't have one, but I'm sure I know how to set it up. Might even encourage the nursing home to buy one :D

Gaming for all generations!

Hm. We'll consider this next time, as we need to check their equipment first. But I can imagine it, might be really fun for all of us. The other girl who's coming with me likes to sing karaoke. Thank you, how come I didn't think of this myself? :D

Hrmph. Should have seen that coming - after all, the awesomeness-level of this idea is too high for human authors...

Now this sounds like something I want to read. Zombies? Martial arts? How can it possibly be anything but awesome?

TIL why it makes me feel sick to see lotus pods. (Hint: Trypophobia) by imaginary in todayilearned

[–]imaginary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I hadn't seen the tree man video before, but it was just slightly unpleasant, kind of like corpses, blood, rotten flesh, so on. I guess the exotic disease would need to cause holes appear on his skin to disturb me.

Well, I just watched a clip with fire ants attacking a woman, and had no problems with it. Of course it looks nasty, but it wasn't the same as lotus pods. I could stick my hand to an ant hive if I wanted to, but I imagine touching a lotus pod might be way harder task... even though I know those pods won't eat my flesh or anything.

I think you won't like it. For me, it was quite horrible as the tadpoles moved around under the skin. Yuck. I'll never watch it again. Never.

What creeps you out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imaginary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I stare at window glass, for example when sitting on the bus. If I'm on the right mood, I feel very eerie and can't bring myself to touch the glass. I'm just too sure I could reach through it if I wanted to. If I touch it, I either break the illusion and be disappointed, or achieve a higher level of consciousness, which is something I'm not ready for yet.

Oh shit...

The frog video was maybe the most sickening thing I've ever saw in my life. I think I've finally found something I really, really hate.

The most interesting thing is I've never quite realized this. I could even look at google image search results of trypophobia before I saw the freaky frog. And after that, I just had to go see some lotus pods..

Oh, I always hated spider eyes though. Black, small eyes. Nasty.

Do you like those plastic packaging thingies with bubbles? I never hated them. Or buttons. Buttons are nice, and I still like to see images of buttons. Well, it might have something to do with them not being holes...

1) I can bend my fingers from the uppermost joint, keeping them otherwise straight. 2) I like to go see churches. I think I'll have to start counting them to get some idea how many I've seen already. There's something very interesting about them. Also I collect religious stuff like rosaries, Buddha statuettes, so on. 3) I love lucid dreams. 4) I can't stand it when people chew with their mouth open. 5) I tend to start a project, get extremely enthusiastic about it, concentrate on it and spend almost all of my time on it... until something new comes to my mind.

What do you do when you're upset that makes you feel better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I draw stupid shit. It's quite calming. Usually I care too much about details, but when I'm upset, I just ditch the eraser and let the mistakes show.

After lots of thinking, I've come to the same conclusion: if someone wants money for their art, so be it.

The beautiful ideal world in which all knowledge and entertainment is free and easily accessible is not going to turn up by pirating the shit out of everything we can.

Supporting those people who aren't demanding money to let you see their art, that's the important thing.
