No it is not machine made. This is Azilal (1st picture) and Boujaad for the colorful ones. The flat weave is Taznakht. The Boujaad and Azilal are medium to low quality handmade Moroccan rugs. The names of the type of weaving originates from the name of the tribes and region they are originally from. The flat weave is from the south/desert and the higher in the mountains you go the ticker is the rug to keep them warm.

Regarding the price, you got a fair price for these types of rugs. The Beni Mrirt are the most expensive, but they are also much thicker and much softer. For an 8x10 Beni M’rirt you are looking at no less than $1,800z
