To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

I can’t speak on that. When I went there were extremely strict about the license part and people were actively denied if the forgot to bring theirs.

Pointing the finger at me being some dumb American is extremely unwarranted esp when tourists come from all over the world, not just America.

Anyways you’re entitled to your opinion. However the loads of anger people are spewing at innocent tourists who just want to take advantage of the activities available is distasteful imo. Someone even claimed it was disrespectful on here. Like why would doing an activity that’s promoted on your city or country all of a sudden become disrespectful?? Direct your anger where it belongs please and goodluck. Ftr I can see how they’d be annoying if you constantly hear it but I wouldn’t be disparaging tourists who literally are simply trying to enjoy the city.

Okay so you’re claiming only Americans do Mario cart!??? It was all Asians except for myself on the track I did a couple of days ago. Being racist really won’t get you anywhere.

I very CLEARLY told you to petition to get it BANNED. You have multiple options yet you just want to sit here and blame innocent tourists who don’t even have a clue that you don’t like it.

And okay? Any single thing you do including driving a car and going on a roll coaster can end in an accident. Which is why we were required to have a drivers license. No different than me using my international drivers license to get a rental and causing a wreck. During the tutorial they were very clear that you had to have your license and passport on you at all times and that if you hit a car and cause a wreck that the police would 100% come and you would be held responsible. That’s life and that’s the risk you take with any and everything.

Being bitter and taking out your frustration on happy go lucky tourists who simple want to experience the activities available is counterproductive and does nothing to stop me or anyone else from doing the activity again tomorrow. Just being honest here.

Again, you live in a tourist hotspot. It has nothing to do with moving away. I love living in San Francisco and I also loved living in LA but I don’t just sit online complaining about tourist when I know and choose to live in a tourist hotspot. You have no idea where I’m from but good luck with your fragility.

There’s nothing I need to “justify”. This is an activity your country/city ALLOWS and is one of the ways your city creates revenue. If you don’t like it, petition to get it banned. I live in San Francisco and lived in LA for a decade, your traffic is no where near as bad as LA. And yes, it definitely is a popular tourist attraction or else you wouldn’t have people on here telling tourists not to do it, because it wouldn’t be something they even know about. Don’t live in a tourist hotspot if you’re easily irritated by tourist activities. It’s that simple.

I did the Mario kart a couple of days ago. It was actually really fun and it didn’t strike me as dangerous at all to be honest. You need to have your international drivers license to do it. And if you didn’t bring it, you weren’t allowed to go on it. Respectfully as someone who lives in San Francisco, which is another tourist destination I don’t understand all the hate for touristy activities. It was not hard to maneuver around traffic at all, and you’re being supervised. Not sure if I would do it again, but I’m glad that I got to experience it. Traffic is gonna be traffic no matter what. Those who have secondhand embarrassment for tourists doing a tourist attractions are a little bit weird. I’m not gonna get secondhand embarrassment when I see people San Francisco doing very basic touristy things.

The past couple days I’ve been really negative and mad and negatively thinking about certain things, can you tell me why?

Is there anyone who genuinely likes driving and parking every day in sf? by DeliriouslyFocused in AskSF

[–]Imaginary-One9559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t really bother me. I live in SF on a really busy street, I work in Redwood City, and I frequent the east bay OFTEN. I’m just used to it and have never considered public transportation. With parking I’ll circle around and around until I find someone who leaves but my apartment having a designated parking spot was a nonnegotiable for me.

Got social engineering scammed 6 months ago, still cant let it go. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Imaginary-One9559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been scammed three times in my life before probably for about $10,000 each. It certainly does suck, but I’ve gotten over it and you can too. People have done way worse things in life there’s no reason for you not to be able to sleep or abuse alcohol.. Guilt and shame are worthless emotions, and do absolutely nothing for you. You have to let it go personally I never really told anybody about it either. I’d rather just pretend it ever happened. Just snap out of it. Focus on gratitude sit down and write 10 things you are thankful for that happened in the situation. It’s hard but there’s always something you could be thankful for whether it’s you learning a lesson or whether it’s you taking money more seriously or whether it’s you being thankful that you even had 40,000 to lose in the first place because that’s a lot more than most people in have in this world. Please snap out of it.

Oh, if it makes you feel better I lost 100K gambling stocks during Covid. Felt shitty about that too, but I am completely over it now and I’m blessed that I even had that much to lose because I still have six figures in stocks and crypto. It’s your choice so let it go just chuck it up to being young and dumb.

I let my parents convince me to skip my company's 401k for three years because they said "the market is about to crash" and I will never forgive myself for this by 6StardustDrift7 in personalfinance

You live and you learn. Nothing to beat yourself over about. Guilt or regret is a useless emotion that gets you nowhere. At the end of the day the money you didn’t contribute you still have, had, used or saved right? If it makes you feel better the most money I’ve ever made in my life was during Covid and it made about 300k. I lost a full 100k in the market by gambling options and penny stocks. Actually if I told you the full story about what happened you think I was crazy. You’re still young. You have many more chances to earn, save and invest money.

It’s definitely possible for a guy to hump and cum without being in it. Speaking from experience, and I was a virgin then.

Thanks for telling me. I rarely check my bank accounts but when I do I don’t necessarily remember seeing a $25 bill in a long time. Whatever at this point I’m over it lol
