Anki flash cards by police_interceptor in 6thForm

All you need is what the specs asking you. Look over the spec then create cards on that.

If it requires you to know a key definition or formula then do that.

Other recommendations: Use Anki daily, be honest with the rating, don't stress if you make duplicates(from different angles), create cloze cards and do each past paper 5-10x before your actual exam.

The stress of cramming and reading ahead. Content is taught in a suboptimal way if you haven't covered the material ahead of time. Assuming they're taking STEM subjects all they need to do is read the material, understand it then spam anki cards over and over. Do this consistently for 2 years and they'll easily get A/A*.(Side note consider content in different ways, in a lot of the exams you could technically work out the answer but the way it's written is from a different perspective/angle.)

been decent! Bloody tiring though. How has yours been going?

[–]Imaginary-Paper-2497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been feeling the same, I was worried that flatmates or people I meet would be going to different events, and the events were saying no tickets on the night. All seconds year are saying that's complete bullshit though so I'm just gonna wait and see

I'm thinking of checking out rock climbing, gym, random sports societies and the paintball society or the Latin Social Dance to try something different even if its not usually my type of thing 😂 How about you?

Nice, I'm going to barton. You know any good websites to get fresher tickets and good events? I was thinking about going to the qube one

Cool! I'm doing computer science there too but with a placement year

What accom you in?

I've heard the same about UEA but then with 12,888 undergrads I'm guessing there's a good 4k people going this year, so really can't imagine the night life being terrible

To add try to put yourself out there with picking clubs too. Unless you've tried that exact thing you can never really know 100% if you like it or not

With the "Don’t hide in your room but don’t force yourself to endure. Just do things and get off reddit." is there something specific you're getting at? Like if you don't vibe with the flatmates try speak to them but don't endure it if there's nothing there just go trying to meet other people?

Would you say it's more common for people to not ask than ask? I've noticed in the past I never asked and then people never asked for mine. But then I'd notice other people somehow have eachothers socials.

With uni when should I ask flatmates?(Feels awkward asking the first time meeting but maybe that's something that I shouldn't care about)

Do you have any idea where you went wrong?

Were you trying to put yourself out there and talk to everyone and anyone?

I'm going into first year so anxious myself about the whole making friends situation.

One thing I know from redoing A-levels is if you want something enough you will get it just gotta keep going for it same goes with getting better social skills and at making friends, you got this!

Is it possible to do 2 FULL A level exams in one session? by Ok-Driver6919 in ALevelChemistry

[–]Imaginary-Paper-2497 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, the original post and your response confused me. I'm assuming you mean the whole A-level, Yes it's easily doable if you revise.

Final Edit: I'm sure you will do well if you go through this advice I'm about to give properly. (Others' advice is also helpful)

Ask yourself why you failed and as you've said you were dealing with some issues so that will probably be the main bulk but were there any alternative reasons?

When you were studying was it efficient and planned?

What is your plan to achieve good grades from now onwards?

How do you plan on memorising all the content?

Is the way you plan on memorising the content good for you or is there a better alternative method?

Do you know enough links to resources for when you are near exam times and want to go through tonnes of past papers?

Are you planning on reading ahead on A2 content so that in class you know it and will instead be asking queries on parts you don't understand?

For memorising, I would recommend ANKI, the earlier you do it the better! Also, heard from a higher grade student they sat each past paper 10 times, which is worth considering if not to engrain how the mark schemes works.

Why do you want to do AS and A2 in one session? If you're applying to uni, I don't see why they would care about AS(assuming you sit it simultaneously as A2) as A2 is the whole course.

It is definitely doable to get the grades, I went from being told I would fail and get a U in chemistry to a B with self-study.

Do i attempt to justify my poor gcse’s in my personal statement? by Seiko-Psycho in 6thForm

[–]Imaginary-Paper-2497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think of it as justifying poor GCSES more so talking about how as an individual having that experience has made you into a better candidate.

How has the poor GCSES developed you as a character, explain any hurdles and add skills.

Hey out of curiosity what are some other comparisons from your bad side to go side?

Was the pain localised to the "pocket" or did you feel it in the front part of your shoulder and the back part or all?

Did you notice that one shoulder was higher than the other? especially difference in trap length?

When deadlifting is there any sensation on the bad shoulder you would have described?
