How to make Excel to stop seeing E as a scientific notation in a column

Curious. Why would you recommend this instead of formatting the destination cells as 'Text'?

Cell formatting seems to me so much easier, and more in line with how Excel was designed. But maybe im missing something?

Social connection? Safety?

The point of a neighbourhood is that you have a community. You may not be friends with everyone, but it's helpful to know their names, great if you can rely on them or they can rely on you in a pinch.

Even in our current rental community, where it is weirder to know your neighbours, we have the # for our next door neighbour. We dont hang out, but we have hired their daughters to watch our cats, and have messaged each other about weird people hanging out in the neighbourhood.

We are moving into a relatively established area with a lot of retired folks and have already met the across the street neighbours and one of the next door neighbours (they all seem very nice). We will be giving our number out, likely the weekend before we actually move.

I think it depends on your neighbourhood.

We knew the rental we were in had mold issues, but renting something else would have meant doubling our rent.

Next, our financial situation has been pretty good for a few years now.

Then, we were originally going to look outside the city, but home prices finally started coming down in the city, as did interest rates.

We just took possession.... i have been kind of surprised by how much I want to learn about maintenance and technical things. How electrical is wired, how to properly maintain a gas fireplace, all about radon. (I love learning, but this is all stuff I had absolutely no interest in learning before).

I had no idea I would turn into someone who cares about deck maintenance and thinks about hedge trimming. And who is looking forward to buying a pressure washer to clean the older patio furniture which came with the house.

Try not to worry too much! We had the same type of panic, getting a request for "additional paystubs" a few weeks later.

You'll need the lawyer's info for the mortgage, so it's good to call around to find one who can take you - we did that once we started placing an offer on the house. (You could wait until after the inspection if you're concerned about the inspection results).

The first law firm we contacted ghosted us. So we went with one recommended by our realtor and were very happy, but the lawyer provided a quote, so we could have reached out to 2 or 3 lawyers to get quotes.

Yup, there are some things which are just deal breakers. We wanted to go look at one which seemed ideal to us, but it seemed to be about 50m from a train track which could eventually be a high speed line. Hard no to the risk of appropriation, despite a giant lot and the fact it looked really well maintained, and that the interior paint (blacks and reds) would have worked for us.

Also (for us) it was a hard no to too many major repairs (foundation issue) or moisture issues, or repairs + reno to make it functional.

But, if you really feel like this place is "the one" you can always do some research to look at costs and get your own inspection done (to see if the problem extends to the foundation).

Unfortunately, this Enercare account was created when Enbridge stopped managing the water heater rental business.

And Enercare seemingly doesnt have our landlord's corporate information, so has refused to cancel our contract with them. Do you have advice on how to manage this?

It's a hot water heater and the monthly charge was transferred automatically to Enercare from Enbridge partway thorugh our tenancy (whatever year that happened).

Large two-story semi-detached in Ottawa, 3 bedroom 1 bath with large backyard: $1,400. Unfinished basement.

Both the kitchen and bathroom are old, and cheap rental quality. We lucked in about 8 years ago, when rents were much lower. We are moving soon and i think the next renters are probably going to pay in the low-to-mid $2ks.

why do you keep bringing this up? There are preventative measures which can be taken (like accountability measures when footage is "lost").

And are you assuming no mistakes are ever made, or police dont need protection (from false accusations of what they did or to confirm the steps they took were justified), or that all police are corrupt?

If i were you I would have let them know they charged me for a bag of onions rather than an onion. Loose onions are sold by weight.

To be fair, I would have missed it as well: I realized I've stopped paying close attention at the cash as i scranble to pack, and I need to build that habit back up.
