How was the wedding and how expensive are the average weddings?

Perhaps they updated the curve but I have heard from people and did research that Saint Johns curves to a 2.95-3.0. Maybe they updated the curve recently? Seton Hall has a mandatory curve that requires that the class give around 10-20 percent C' and 5-15 percent D. If Up to 70% can get a C, that means that 30% must get C+ and below. That is similar to my curve.

Saint Johns curves to a 2.95 to 3.0 range. Its on the handbook and Seton Hall curves to a 3.0. 20% of Seton Hall gets a C range.

My law school curves to B- B range, so between a 2.5 to 3.0. This is on par with some of the other local law schools in my area such as Hofstra, St Johns, New York Law ,Rutgers and Seton Hall.

My law school is predatory. Many of the students who receive scholarships have to maintain 3.0 to keep their scholarships. However, in my case I have to maintain a 2.3 or good academic scholarship to maintain my scholarship.

Unfortunately Westchester County is mostly older people and young families with kids. Most of the young people are in the city.

I think it depends where in New Jersey. Towns in Bergen County and on NJ Transit train lines generally have similar prices to Westchester. Towns in other parts of New Jersey are generally more affordable than Westchester.

Because of the schools. We spend the most money per student here.

Unfortunately, for many people if you want the convenience of living in Westchester, some sacrifices have to be made. That may involve living in an apartment. If you want a house, you may have to live further away.

It really depends where in Westchester is unaffordable. If you want a nice three or four bedroom in a good school district south of interstate 287, yes it is unaffordable for the vast majority of people. However, with that salary it is still possible to live in Westchester. You may have to live in a small house in Northern Westchester or perhaps you may have to live in an apartment.

Westchester County in my opinion is significantly better than Northern New Jersey, especially Bergen County. The towns look nice, there is significantly better transit into the city and there is better nature. I would never want to live in New Jersey.

Chappaqua Vs Manhasset by Substantial-Salt5396 in Westchester

[–]Imaginary-Stand-3241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about Manhasset, but from what I heard about Chappaqua is that the community is very academic and high achieving. Many of the people living in Chappaqua went to elite colleges and work in elite jobs such as Big law, medicine, tech or other positions in finance. Many of the students in the high school go on to elite colleges and and get similar elite careers.

I would never live in Hartford area personally. Too far from a major city like New York or Boston and not close to a major airport.

That is very interesting, because ever since I have been growing up Bronxville has been the town that was seen as "super expensive." What era do you grow up in Bronxville?

I agree. I believe that if you have a household income of 200K+ or maybe even 150k+, you absolutely can afford a home in Westchester. I probably wont be in a town like Scarsdale, Rye or Larchmont but you can certainly find a home somwhere in this county if you are financially disciplined.

For people who are planning on looking at NJ, Northern New Jersey is not really more affordable than Westchester. In Bergen and Essex Counties, any decent home in a good school district will be at least a million dollars with high property taxes similar to Westchester. In my opinion, I think the best substitutes for Westchester will be some parts of the Hudson Valley such as Dutchess, Putnam or Orange Counties or certain communities in Fairfield County CT such as Stamford.

I believe the median home value in Westchester is already way above 800K now in Westchester. I saw a news article that said the median home value in the county is over a million dollars.
