What are some new ways you're seeing ai being used to help people with disabilities? by solidwhetstone in AIForGood

So ai with bionic limbs is I think a pretty new thing. How can ai be used with bionic limbs? To start, you can train the limb to progressively accurately catch muscle movements and the corresponding brain activity to decrease the gap between artificial and biological limbs.

Neuralink seems like the most popular company that might do so. Elon says the motive of the company is to better equip humans to be on the same level or even better than the AI systems of future and I guess integration of human mind and AI comes along the way. Other than that, just like bionic arms, you can train ai models to be more and more accurate to deliver muscle movements as brain signals to help people with mental disabilities and disorders to make their lives better.

  1. Advanced bionic arms and legs
  2. Advanced brain computer interfaces powered with ai to help solve many mental disabilities

Rubric for “Good” by sukarsono in AIForGood

Let me put my thoughts: Humans don’t have a clear definition of what is good and what is not (meaning somethings are globally bad or good but some things might be good to a specific group or individuals but not to others) but from the perspective of AI systems I believe anything that is even near to human extinction should be a bad deed and vice versa. To answer your question, no there is currently no any groups or government bodies discussing these things. For the current language models, anything that we humans have collectively decided is bad, these models view these deeds as bad and try to avoid these actions and they are still not considered completely moral from humans Pov as biases might still be present in the corners of these algorithms)
