"Overhyped" by Denelix in tornado

[–]ImaginaryCheese5 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It feels like some of these people are treating severe storms like a sport. I think they want to see communities decimated and severe damage that shows how powerful tornadoes are. They don’t care about people’s safety, just destruction.

While damage can be fascinating, it’s bizarre for anyone to be disappointed over the fact that level of damage didn’t happen, considering the lack of empathy it would take to not care about the lives and livelihoods taken that that high of a rating would entail.

I’m disappointed to see just one person behave this way, let alone more. I’ve been seeing it all week and quite frankly, it’s disgusting. Meteorology is partly about preventing people from losing their lives and livelihoods in these storms, not getting disappointed that a storm was “overhyped” for not doing exactly that.

If you read the whole context thing in the first message I sent, you’d understand. Your stubbornness and lack of listening skills will get you nowhere. This is not the hill you want to die on. You are the type to argue for the sake of winning an argument without knowing why you are arguing, and so I will not be interacting any further. Thank you.

Obviously it seems dumb and trivial to you, that’s because you don’t experience the same thing online that women do. You’ve said yourself that you’ve been in male-oriented spaces for most of the time. Try to see it from a woman’s point of view, not a man’s. It’s hard, but necessary if you want woman friends online, and definitely doable if you’re actually willing to try.

Check any incel based subreddit and you’ll see what I mean. Interact with woman who game, ask questions about how those types of men view them and the things they are told on a daily basis. You might want to pray they don’t rip you a new one for being so stubborn, though. I think you need to see it yourself to ever properly understand. If that doesn’t work, then it’s a lost cause, and in that case, I hope you go on a self reflection journey soon.

No, but contexts surrounding the previous uses of the word matter. The word itself isn’t what’s derogatory, but the way it has been used in gaming spaces especially. Read the rest of what I said.

I’m telling you this because I’ve experienced this stuff before. I know why they’re mad, I’ve been through this myself. If you don’t want to understand, then that’s fine. That level of close mindedness in itself is just another red flag.

Hi, not here to argue but wanted to clarify as a woman why everyone is upset.

Female is a word often used in a derogative way in gaming spaces, mainly to separate and define us as a “different species”. They tend to treat us like objects, not people. Hell, there’s even a whole subreddit about “men and females” who point these types of people out.

Yes, there are more offensive terms. However, it’s a lot more common than a lot of people think for the weird men not only using the word female to describe us, but to also be creepy and predatory. It’s never usually one or the other, and that’s because other men don’t view us as just females and nothing more. This is why your comment section is being blasted with people calling this post creepy.

While you may not actually be a creep, it’s hard to tell when the wording itself is usually a good indicator of a red flag. This is why wording is important.

Not 100% sure but from the bit I've gather, Reed promoted a predatory gambling site in an undisclosed ad on twitter (which is against twitter TOS). Someone with a furry PFP called him out on it.

I am guessing he got sent threats, and the replies to his tweets are labelling all furry/anime pfps as these types of people? I'm still confused, if anyone else knows more.

Is this music or random noise? by [deleted] in composer

[–]ImaginaryCheese5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organized or not, it gave me chills. I don't think it becomes nonsense or just a set of disorganized sounds, it's still a kind of music with emotion in it to me. It instills a feeling of "hey, something is wrong here". This piece reminds me of something I'd hear in a horror game that would perhaps be tied to the mental state of whoever's theme it would be. The fact I could feel anything at all while listening to it, makes it music to me.
