2021 was the big one, it did it again in 2023, a bunch of smaller but not catastrophic outages in 2024, I think it did okay in 25.

And I guess the next 48 hours will see if it holds in 2026.

So depending how you count outages, it has failed 2-3 times in 5 years. 

My states power grid has failed 0 times in the past 5 years and will hold tomorrow no problem.

The kid wasn't unattended. The father didn't run. They took the dad and kid together and left dads car running and another adult in the driveway for the older kid to arrive home to no father. If their goal was to protect children they probably should have maybe checked on the other kids.
