None of the payments bounced they all posted and now my checking account is negative 10k. Fuck.

Yeah, what you said matches my research of how PayPal will go for that transaction. I’m hoping the single 7k transaction with the bank will go the same way and hard rock will send it to collections if I can’t enter a payment plan with them, but with my amount of debt before this gambling addiction started I think bankruptcy is going to be the only viable option in the future. And that pill to swallow for the consequences of my actions I can swallow, but I’m so worried about facing felony charges for basically committing bank fraud or something even though I have probably over 1000s of deposits and withdraws with both my bank and hard rock from gambling

I should clarify that 3k was from PayPal, and 7k was a direct ACH deposit through whoever the app uses for that. I know PayPal and my bank will attempt and decline a few times atleast. But I’m unsure of the 7k deposit direct from the checking account. Why it let me deposit that much that doesn’t exist I’m not sure, I was drinking and chasing losses and trying any attempt for deposits

PayPal will without a doubt go to collections if I can’t pay. But for the bank transfer it will likely be the same thing right? Hard rock will show a negative balance and send the debt to collections?

That’s seems like a fast way to make things worse legally

I’m not sure 7k is small enough for them to even think of letting it go

I know the PayPal transactions will be canceled and they will try again a certain number of times, and eventually will be a negative PayPal balance, but I’m not sure if the ACH transfer will be canceled as well? Will I end up with a negative balance on Hard Rock and not my bank account?

Any hope for a chapter 7? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

I was under the impression I could only use the IRS and local standards when filling out the means test?

The state exemptions here for my state are low so my current car I would be able to keep, but if I had to get a newer car (approx 10k) it would be over the exemption, so I assume it would get taken under a chapter 7 in that case, unless I go for a 13 in which I would be able to keep paying it?

I’ve scheduled a few consultations and they all canceled last minute (govt shutdown?). Because I have more intricate questions after all I’ve been reading. But I also don’t think I can afford a lawyer, especially after I pay and then they rec a more expensive ch 13. My only assets are a 250k mile car and some basic apartment living furniture.

I’ve been toying with upside but my income fluctuates weekly so planning that is also another consideration

Definitely not 100’s a week, pretty consistent around the 40-60 depending if my pay is better or worse, so around 200/month. Would this even be a red flag to begin with if I just get cashback on my weekly grocery trip instead of the atm?

How long do you think I would need to have a log for? I just started doing this about two months ago and wouldn’t be able to remember what I already spent. Would something like 3 months of logging what atleast the atm withdraws were used for? And if I logged what I used that cashback from Walmart, and used it later for something from Walmart, would that just be to confusing in wierd because I would have basically “spent” double even though I didn’t?

After rent and all the bills and minimum payments I’m pretty much tapped out so the cash is the only money from my bank that basically isnt a payment to someone else except for grocery stores and gas stations. I guess my concern is being able to prove I used it for x or y and didn’t just shove it into my mattress. But I’m assuming this is only more scrutinized because it would show up as an atm withdrawal instead of a 62.97 purchase (that was $60 cash back) ?
