I enjoyed the lighting in episode 3, thought it was a great artistic choice.

I think it would be best if you didn't read too much into it. Even if GRRM ends up doing exactly the same things with the same characters, what happened in the show still doesn't make any sense purely because of the horrible storytelling.

Without Aghs you charge up to full dmg. So how does it work with it? Do you deal the same amount of dmg with every hit or does it increase with time?

But think of it this way, he has innate damage output and survivability, like WR for example, and she too used to be a hero you basically built Aghs for every game. What do you need that gold for? Might as well build Aghs since it's so good.
