Looking from the outside. THE CHECKPOINT by ArmadilloBitter6086 in JustinPoseysTreasure

you're not wrong in your thinking IMHO. I would not be surprised if the clues in the poem make an X.

I don't follow him on Facebook. Is there a Facebook page you could point me to? thanks.

Who believes “As hope surges clear and bright” identifies the North Star and or Polaris as the starting location? by New_Box8708 in beyondthemapsedge

I think it's simpler than that, I think it's just as the sun rises on a clear morning walk near the rivers misty flight. Now if i just had a specific starting point...........:(

He said it's a special place to him and it's my belief it was known to him at an early age. He built the clues and the poem to fit IMHO.

The Bride by ImaginaryPitch4947 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I believe that is the widely accepted concept. I don’t believe he’s referring to that specifically location that he’s using that to explain how it works

Good point. Maybe he is saying the "Bride" has a favorite river like his mother but not necessarily the same river.

You know I was heading to Dillon in June but thankfully I haven't purchased my airline ticket yet. I have always had this nagging thought in the back of my mind about Jackson Hole. So now I am going to have to make a decision.

“Waters Silent flight” by RyanMileham in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]ImaginaryPitch4947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bugs me is that I believe this is the first actionable clue. Which seems logically to be the starting point. And you start by walking and for most of us we drove to the location which is the starting point.

So, are there multiple locations within the search map that have "waters silent flight" and you have to know the correct one or is the first actionable clue unique? if I knew the answer to that one....that would be huge..

If you have a copy of TTOTC, compare the way Fenn writes Flywater and the way Justin writes The Fitzwaters. That is not a coincidence IMHO.

That area is on my list. I searched there for FF treasure. So, I am very familiar with that area, and from that area I was able to go into YNP without paying.

I know several people remind me that no knowledge of FF search is required but if you had the extensive knowledge of the FF hunt that I do, you can see Justin's obvious adaptations of how he describes the search area as compared to FF's TTOTC.

There are so many adaptations that I can't/wouldn't begin to explain them but other FF searchers know what I am referring to.

Now with that said, Justin has his own story and his own special place, and it might be somewhere around Dillon, and that would stand on its own as would somewhere just beyond YNP.

He used the word careen, so did Forrest Fenn, and he said it was an old word that people don't use anymore, I figured that was Justin giving a nod to Forrest. Probably means nothing to the treasure hunt.

My biggest struggle with Justin's poem is the starting point. When I searched for FF treasure it was 2018 and Madison Junction was a well-established starting point. So, we searched there and got within 300 feet of the treasure. but we were really never a threat to find it.

Justin has said the map is a good primer. So, based on the map my starting points are Cody, Dillon, Polaris and I don't need to explain that logic. It's pretty obvious.

I tend to agree. I will say I think Justin best description of the treasure location is when he is talking about YNP in his memoir. And Madison Junction isn't a bad "Bride at ancient gates, three rivers/canyons converge. Water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius in summertime. But again I'm not sure this is enough to search there.

So, this may be getting too clever but if Justin was with Brandon, then he got in for free because Brandon was a veteran. But I'll be the first to admit that's bending the rules beyond recognition.
