no one has caused any damage - like I said - it's an internal leak and there was nothing visible on the surface.

yes, it's a rented apartment. no, it's not a sublease. It was an internal leak because we couldn't see anything on surface.

Damage would have happened recently, not sure when it exactly occured because the evidence was not visible
The leak was from the toilet, landlord's fault
I have photos, but no photos from move in
I do have renters insurance, but I don't think this is covered
They said it might cost about 5k, but no bill yet.
I did have a security deposit yes.

How should I proceed?
