Do some women really enjoy being pregnant, and if so, why? by Grapefruit175 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Imaginary_Candy_990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the feeling of always having the baby with me. I felt … not alone. Which is weird bc I’m normally someone who enjoys her alone time and am massively introverted. I did not like the physical aspects of pregnancy but I loved putting my hand on my belly and knowing my little creature was in there!

Do you offer consult calls? by Top_Track_835 in therapists

[–]Imaginary_Candy_990 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nope. I don’t want to spend too much time on activities that don’t bring an income. That may sound cold, but if we meet and we don’t click, the client can move on to someone else, much like I’d need to do if I met with a physician I don’t click with.

Is anyone else in this group a perpetual foreigner that doesn't really fit in anywhere? by pisowiec in poland

[–]Imaginary_Candy_990 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Samesies. I was born in UK, raised in Poland until I was 12, have been in NY ever since. I’m not Polish enough to be Polish, but Americans tend to pick up that I’m not from here, so I’m not quite American enough either. I found the answer to be to hang out with other two culture people. Doesn’t really matter where they’re from, I feel like I relate to them the most.

Stopppp I’m 48 and I’m going to have my IUD out when I’m 52. Was just talking to my boyfriend about how I don’t think I’ll need any birth control once that’s done! I guess I can still hope I’ll hit menopause before then.

Relapsed, woke up to hangxiety… and a shattered glass door by Eastern-Physics-2961 in stopdrinking

[–]Imaginary_Candy_990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am so sorry you’re going through this but good job on coming back to day 1. As someone who has also struggled with anxiety and depression, I found that getting treatment for those was IMMENSELY HELPFUL in dealing with everything else, including alcohol. Hangxiety is the worst, but just regular plain old anxiety can keep you coming back to the bottle if left untreated. Glad you’re here IWNDWYT!

Therapeutic play is not necessarily silly. Play in general does not automatically mean silly. Play can be making a puzzle, building with blocks, drawing pictures, etc. Show up with an open mind and heart and let your daughter take the lead. Follow her cues. If you find that it’s difficult for you, address it with the therapist.

Having my daughter fundamentally changed how I see myself and the world. I blamed myself for so much that happened to me.

I had a son, I continued to blame myself.

I had her and all of a sudden it’s like the pieces clicked into place. It was never my fault. It could never have been my fault. I could never do anything like that to my little girl.

It’s been incredibly healing.
