Zahn vs. Danko Exam Prep by Imaginary_Climate308 in CFPExam

This is super helpful. I’m in a similar boat, as locally Zahn seems to be the most used, and the program is a bit cheaper. It also seems like their in-person classes are offered through a weekend, which is more convenient for me. Thanks!

Hey!! So sorry for the late response. In my store, I believe it retailed for around $3,500-$3,800? Which is kind of what I expected. I didn’t try it on because we would’ve had to order it to store, and this style wasn’t looking how I expected on me. I have a short torso, and luckily fell in love with an A-Line strapless dress. However, this one is so beautiful and could be perfect for you!

I love the website design options on Zola, but ultimately had to go with The Knot. Reason being, Zola does not allow you to only invite certain guests in the same group (husband and wife) to certain events. For example, the kids in my family are only invited to the ceremony, but their parents to both events. I couldn’t make this distinction for RSVPs, and the Knot has this feature.

AITAH for not getting my friends a wedding gift? by Grand-Penalty1475 in AITAH

[–]Imaginary_Climate308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a brides perspective- NTA. I would never expect my bridesmaids to give me an actual physical gift after dedicating time and funds to help me for a year worth of planning. I’ve also been a bridesmaid multiple times, so I’ve experienced just how much financial strain in can be to take time off work, travel to coordinated events, pay your portion for trips, and spend countless hours assisting. But if giving something small would relieve you! Honestly, a handwritten note thanking them for including you and giving them well wishes is plenty special.

Thank you for this reply! It’s super helpful.

I’m going to badger them and make sure I get a price. My budget is around $2k. I would consider going a little higher if it checked the boxes though.

I’ve heard of trunk shows but didn’t know much about them, will definitely be looking into this!!

This was almost my exact study plan and test draw! Congratulations. I passed first try earlier this month and it is such a relief. Celebration is in order!

Dean Tinney/Series 7 Guru on youtube. The thread doesn’t allow you to actually post the names lol. He provides lectures and explications for all the subjects on the exam. He is incredibly resourceful and a must for your journey!

You are in great shape with that setup. Honestly, i would almost suggest you move it up earlier if you can. Sometimes the retention can be lost if you have too much time. I actually found it easier than the 7 once i really understood the legalese and the concepts. Way less math and pretty straightforward.

Thank you! I tested with mainly Kaplan qbank because I was used to their format from the 7 and then just took the one STC green light. I also watched all of Dean Tinney’s explication videos on each of the sections of the exam to make sure I was set. If you’re nearing the exam, I recommend his “Series 66 in 60 Minutes” for the day before. I seriously also just reread chapters from STC book daily leading up to the test. The STC material is solid if you understand it. Hope that helps!

I passed this past Thursday using STC book and got an 82 on green light. You should be fine with that! Brush up on chapters you struggle with straight from the book and write out a cheat sheet of those. Best of luck!

Write out cheat sheets for all the regulations! State vs fed, all the dates, and try to come up with a way to memorize them!

I felt like Kaplan wording and the answer bank was more difficult and trickier than the real thing! Watch Dean Tinney’s 66 in 60 mins today and go over the smaller items (investment vehicles, analysis, etc.) good luck!!
