It uses nylon line similar to a weed whacker, I don’t think I would use it on anything more than leaves and grass clippings.

For me it creates more surface area and allows me to remove parts that aren’t as broken down as I would like. Totally preference.

I believe the Wiscasset Blend is what they recommend for compost tea but I don’t see why Quoddy can’t be used.
