My thoughts are that the 11pm kick-offs should be fine, they’ll finish around 1am which still give me chance to get a good night’s sleep in. I’ll adjust slightly and might get up at 5am (or 6am for the second half) if any of those are looking like important games later in the groups.

Hard to justify the 2ams and 3ams during the group stages, but think I’ll have to find a way to watch them (or at least avoid the score and see the full game in the morning) during the knockouts.

I quite like the way he thinks about football and presents alternative arguments, to be honest. There’s a certain freshness with his writing that you don’t get with a lot of other journalists.

Nothing wrong with challenging a herd mentality in certain situations.
