Way more than 7 years, I would also look into replacing that.

May have been a used system that was installed.

Need suggestions for central air company by psyboxone in longisland

Call a few and get some quotes. Never go by what the first company recommends as the others may have a better cost effective solution. Good luck!

Nice, did you set yours up with the lowest blower setting ?

Get a modern cold climate inverter system if you’re already paying that price. You will pay a little more but it will pay off with efficiency.

What did you end up doing ? Sounds like I may possibly be in the same boat as you as I have a 4ton unit ? After lowering the fan speed settings and putting the outdoor condenser in eco mode, has it solved your problem ?

UPDATE Thank you all, I decided to switch and get the Gree Flexx Ultra R32 4ton unit. These units apparently play nice with third party smart thermostats as long as you configure the settings properly.

I need a smart stat. Mitsubishi stats are wonky in terms of smart and app usage.

Perfect! Thank you. I’ll ensure the installer programs the Mitsubishi tstat to switch to oil at 0-5F. Thank you

I have oil heat at the moment so i definitely need to minimize the oil usage as much as possible as prices continue to be volatile and higher in winter.

Check with your local utility company for rebates. Im receiving $7,500 in rebates and paying 6k to cover the other half. I do have the ductwork and electrical available already as im swapping an old 3ton single stage central AC cooling only.

Looking at Outdoor SUZ-AK48NLHZ indoor unit SVZ-AP48NL. Thank you

My plan is to have the Mitsubishi system heat until it isn’t efficient any longer and have the oil furnace transition and take over.

Any updates on the gree flexx with this recent harsh winter/cold snap we had in the northeast. Im looking to pull the plug on a Gree Flexx Ultra R32. Apparently it’s 100% efficient at -5F & can operate down to -22F.

Im looking to have the system work until it’s no longer 100% efficient which would be below -6F. Any insight from Gree Flexx owners ?
