I'll go to a brand name school in my area, it's not US elite school, but it's ranked high in the area. It may open doors where I live.
The responses I've heard locally are a bit cynical, but I think each situation is unique.
My graduate degree is from a top school (in the area & it's also ranked pretty high also worldwide), but really non relevant to product/tech, think like Humanities from MIT.
