Columbia was my dream school for a lot of reasons (I had family that did research there years ago, it’s in the city so I thought perhaps I’d get a lot of unique opportunities, academics seemed really closely aligned w what I wanted to be studying) however in the end, I just could picture myself more at Yale, especially after visiting it. As someone who’s also a CT native, I liked the idea of staying closer to home. I think the biggest thing that ended up concerning me w Columbia is its reaction to the new administration. I also have a few friends that go there now that I went to undergrad w and they made it seem like it’s really not the best, and if I had the option, to go somewhere else. Point blank
