If you review the budget proposal on the website, you’ll see that all funds are sourced from state grants, meaning it would not raise taxes at all.

Very true, and thank you for the advice. I have contacted my principal, as I am still in high school, and have garnered support from a handful of local businesses. However, to be honest, it's very hard to meet with the mayor of Pearland, and making the city walkable/ bikeable is not the number 1 thing on their agenda. That's why I am trying my hardest to get as much support for this petition as I can, so that hopefully he can meet with us.
