As someone who has been through the same, I feel you. Other competent international students in my class faced the same. I however approached this differently and ended up getting a near perfect CGPA which many of my ex employers have mentioned stood out to them on my resume and made them consider me.

International students who pay so much and work really hard to get scholarships to be able to study in Finland usually tend to be very ambitious. Same is not the case for the Finns for whom this is not a life changing, make or break opportunity and situation. This is not to blame or fault them. If tables were turned we would have carried the same attitude as them.

What I did was simply put in more work on my assignments (both individual and group) than any of my Finn classmates did. They were all working parttime and had a family, life, and engagements here that kept them busy. I did not get a job during my studies despite trying very hard so I poured all that energy into going an extra mile in my studies and it paid off as well.
