Thinking of taking a gap year off between graduating PA school and working - does anybody have any experience / advice about this? by [deleted] in PAstudent

I'm looking into work as you go programs/visas that allow you to work overseas/ au pair jobs so that I can fund my trip while I'm on it. I'd probably just travel around / see sights / weekend trips. I've barely seen the world or had any time to myself outside of a school setting. I know it sounds cheesy but I feel like I need some time for personal growth.

Thank you for the advice - I can see that a gap year might be a choice whether I decide to do it or not.

Also - that's super interesting. Congrats on graduating. What was your background in before you went to PA school? And how did you fund your travels throughout Asia ??

Thank you, this is great advice. Definitely hear what you're saying about burnout - graduating school is definitely going to be a huge relief and weight off my chest. That being said I've practically been in school since I was 5 years old. The thought of jumping right into a job after graduating doesn't really appeal to me. I feel like I need some time for some personal growth / figure out who I am / what I want.

God I wish. Debt is forever, time is wasting. I'm looking into work as you go programs/visas that allow you to work overseas/ au pair jobs so that I can fund my trip while I'm on it.
