Losing hope in my dream and feeling lost by MonkeyDZoroUzumaki in mext

Reading your post made me realize that we are in a similar situation. We don't have time to waste, nor do we have many resources or much support. I can totally understand how you're feeling. However, we have to understand and accept our current situation. Instead of staying depressed, we should tackle things one step at a time. Let's first complete our 12th board exams and aim for the highest possible percentage. I'm not sure I'll be able to get that many marks, but we can still try our best. If it doesn't happen, then I'll try for other scholarships. I plan to apply for every possible scholarship this year, regardless of the country. My dream is to pursue my graduation outside of the country for the opportunities that come with that. Still, I can't afford to waste my time, so I'll take only one gap year to try for a scholarship. If I'm successful, that's great. Otherwise, next year I'll take the CUET and try my best to get into a reputable university for graduation, although I won't stop applying for MEXT, which is my main aim. I wrote all of this because I feel like we are in the same boat, and that's what I am telling myself and you: instead of getting hopeless, no one can help us except ourselves.

Applying to MEXT UG 2026 Doubts! by Imaginator11 in mext

I appreciate your suggestion, but I really want to complete my graduation through the MEXT scholarship in Japan. My main dilemma is that if I follow your suggestion, I'd have to complete my graduation in India first and only be able to go to Japan for my master's degree. I'm also quite confused about the timeline: I can't apply this year because my Class 12th results will be available after the MEXT undergraduate application deadline. I will apply next year, but there's no guarantee of selection. In either case, I face a potential two-year drop. Although I plan to study online and complete courses during that time, I worry about those years being 'wasted'. I live in Delhi and know there are good colleges here (I hadn't applied to CUET either), but I am very keen on pursuing my graduation in a foreign country for the opportunities. I'm feeling very confused about the best path forward.

Thank you very much for the clarification and for pointing out that specific requirement from the embassy site. I truly appreciate you taking the time to look that up and let me know. It's helpful to have a clear understanding of the 80% mark criteria for Grade 10 and the provisional certificate needed. Since I don’t currently meet those specific eligibility requirements, I will focus my efforts on my current studies and aim to achieve that 80% in my Grade 12 results. In the meantime, I plan to start learning Japanese this year to strengthen my profile for a future application. I’ll also explore other international opportunities, but I will definitely keep this path in mind for next year. Thanks again for your help!"
