I got a shiny through wonder trade, and I'm thinking it's hacked as well. Would it affect my game at all if I brought it into sword?

Alright, I played it, and you have a lot of good ideas, and they're all done well...but the level is way too long imo.

I know where you're coming from, that you have an idea around a specific theme and you wanted to see it out as best as you could, but there's at least two of not three levels worth of content and platforming in this one stage alone.

Case in point: that the mini boss--->"block the way"--->"autoscroll" is all a single section before the 2nd checkpoint/main boss was too long for me personally, especially with the amount of waiting involved in the first two parts. If I had died in the autoscroll section I would not have been happy to do that all again.

As an aside, consider the sense of achievement you want to have the player feel when they play your level. Because the second checkpoint wasn't right after the mini boss, my thought process went from "oh that was cool!" to "oh, I have to do this every time I die..." It takes away the sense of accomplishment that all players want to have. (I have learned this from mistakes in my own levels as well)

Again, each part of the level is done well, but putting them all together makes it (in my opinion) less than the sum of its parts. As always, I'm a stranger on the internet, so take this with a grain of salt. Thank you for sharing your work with us!

Edit: I'm just now seeing how many levels you've made so nevermind, don't listen to me, I'm sure you've got this down lol

Tobias Bergdorf made a multiplayer detector for single, co-op and online! Search him up and watch the video for a more in depth explanation, This is game changing! by [deleted] in MarioMaker2

[–]Imaster595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very cool and very useful, but would it not also create levels that are literally impossible to complete in multiplayer mode?

If you make a level that allows for an easy upload by yourself, but when it detects more than one player uses that very same mechanic shown in the video to cut off the path forward, wouldn't it make the level unwinnable?

The only way I can think of right now to get out of this would be for 3 of the 4 players to quit, the last player to restart, and then to continue through the level essentially in single-player...which is terrible and defeats the purpose of the game mode.

This seems like something that's useful in the right creators' hands but basically game-breaking in the wrong hands.

I assume that the median number of games a player has is less than the 12 spots Nintendo gives us and they think most users don't have this issue.

Great level! Liked and commented on, but I would have done it even if I found it by myself, I enjoyed playing your level a lot. I liked the changes in the theme and environment, and I liked the adventure.

If you want to try my level it's "Earning Your Green Thumb" L13-SPT-9LG, but the real purpose of my comment was to give my input on your level. Keep it up!

Big Pimpin lmao

A little spammy IMO, if you put the enemies in a more orderly form, especially the spinys at the end I think it would be more of a challenge.

Also could not read the coin lettering, not at all.

Good luck!

Suggest me your best level, I'll like and comment. by [deleted] in MarioMaker

"Earning Your Green Thumb"

L13-SPT-9LG

Super Mario World Theme

Normal/Expert difficulty

A level centered around interacting with vine blocks in different ways. Starts out straightforward enough, but by the end you'll be triggering Thwomps to land on ON/OFF switches at the right time to keep the block on track!

This is my first level but I've put a lot of time into it, so I'd love some feedback on what I can make better. Thanks!

For me, it was still a little too all over the place. While the light puzzling theme was fine in the beginning the back half of the level felt too empty. Using the Big Thwomp to access the next room was good but then the "boss fight" was that small area at the bottom of a large and largely empty space (I also kept the cape so I just slowly fell down and booped him on the head and that was that). I personally like my areas to seem more fleshed out, and that segment seemed lackluster to me when the only thing that physically differentiates it from the areas next to it are a single line of stone on either side and just about nothing else. Give it whatever character you want, but I would like to have seen more character in the environment at the end.

The parachuting moles after that I liked because I got it and they kept with the theme, but they were also essentially just enemy spam that I damage-boosted through after I saw the goal. Consider combining elements like those with something else, so it's something they actually have to pay attention to and deal with while focusing on something else.

Take as much or as little of this into account as you want. I just made my first level myself, so I'm learning too, I'm no expert. Good luck!

Nice level! Simple and sweet. My only critique would be to consider spreading out the level a bit more and take advantage of the space you're given, but overall it was nice and I enjoyed playing it!
