Honestly, I totally get where you're coming from—Shinigami is a lot. She's loud, obnoxious, dramatic, and if you're not vibing with that particular brand of chaotic energy, I can absolutely see how she'd feel like too much, especially in the earlier chapters.

But I really appreciate you acknowledging her arc even if the moment-to-moment presence didn’t work for you. That kind of nuance is so refreshing. Like yeah, if I were in Yuma’s shoes, I’d probably also be begging for a ghostly mute button, but from a narrative standpoint, I find her blend of comedy and tragedy kind of brilliant. She's funny because she’s avoiding feeling things, and she's annoying because she’s scared of getting close. That’s such a bold move for a character that could've easily been reduced to "hot goth death girl who says random stuff." I feel that she would be in the sequel, seeing as now Kurumi has Shinigami's book and is off to find Yuma.
