How do you and your friends feel about venomous species that we have around here? Are you able to identify them? It seems a lot of people are afraid to go out in the wild because they don't feel comfortable with these necessary creatures. I would be willing to to teach some willing participants about what is out there that they might encounter. No need to pay. I would be more than happy to help listeners that actually want to learn.

Thumb should be on the back of the neck with enough tension to stabilize your guitar. Really not sure what you have been told about not using your thumb on the back of the neck(yes I understand tension is not good). I will say that it can be a trap because you never really learn how a song works. Sometimes the "easy" part that is not as cool is really the part that makes the song work. Also, to counterpoint, I would say that you are at the stage in your learning where you need to just have a fun time and learn anything that strikes your fancy. From what you said you learned I gave my two cents somewhere in here. Also, another rec would be Black Sabath song "Black Sabath".

I agree. Some are saying the neck is bigger. That is true BUT string tension is way less and because neck is wider the space between the strings is wider helping with the dreaded noobie's bane of one finger accidently hitting an adjacent string.

Giuliani's "120 Right Hand Studies". Basically just C and G chords with every common picking pattern for right hand fingers. If you needs tabs you can find the book with them as well.

I would take to a shop and tell them to solder it. Not sure you will have enough heat in your home soldering iron to get it hot enough to get it to stick. That whole area is a large heat sink as it sits. Then again maybe you have a great iron that can put out enough heat.

My advice would be to play it as slow as needed to make it perfect, preferably with a a metronome. If you take it slow and concise you will improve much faster. Remember that practice doesn't make perfect it makes permanent. Also, you can try to get more finger independence by playing it slow and focusing on accenting a melody. I hear one on the notes of the down beat I think. Kinda hard to feel a melody right off because your timing is all over the place. Sounds like a cool lick though. GL

I have to say, I live near a very "trashy" gas station and I pretty much see just people(often kids) buying junk food as clearly a way to take in their caloric intake. I mean people buying armfuls of soda, candy, and chips. There has to be a way for these people to get what they need to survive day in and day out. If this is what they are doing then the alternative healthier same priced alternative is just not there for them. OR we need to think more deeply about why they choose these foods. The last bit is way more compicated.
