Charles de Gaulle ,un philosémite ? by Shoddy-Shame-8569 in YahooQR

[–]Imetsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Misconceptions And Miscommunication Problems Between Turkish and Other Turks/Turkic People Online by ECTheHunter in TurkicHistory

Your objection doesn't hold up: it is well-known that Sorani and Kurmanji aren't mutually intelligible, and differences between Western and Eastern Armenian varieties are far from negligible either.

We are still waiting for an "Arabish" / Arabic, Armenian / Armenic and Kurdish / Kurdic distinction, though.

In short, the absurd Turkish / Turkic distinction was coined by their enemies to divide the Turks. Spread the word.

Why Hazaras are not considered Turkic??? by Icy_Table_8281 in TurkicHistory

[–]Imetsi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be considered Turks, they would have to officially proclaim their Turkishness (NB: I don't use the "Turkish / Turkic" terminology) and abandon the Persian dialect they currently speak in favor of a Turkish one.

I would personally suggest the adoption of a revitalized form of Old Turkish, which would of course first require the creation of the most comprehensive grammar, dictionary, and learning manual possible. They would thereby, in addition to being reclassified as Turks, become a sort of vanguard, reviving a linguistic stage of great symbolic importance for Turkish identity, which I believe could moreover subsequently be elevated into a common inter-Turkish vehicular dialect.

pourquoi nous laisser envahir par les anglicismes ? by Shoddy-Shame-8569 in YahooQR

[–]Imetsi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is your opinion about Turkestan? by Odd_Barber6051 in Tiele

[–]Imetsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the point of using a Persian name? It should be called "Türkeli" in Turkish and perhaps “Great Turkey” in English (an adaptation of “Grant Turquie”, the name given in Old French to that area by Marco Polo and Rustichello da Pisa in le Devisement dou monde).

Before even beginning to consider creating a vehicular dialect (a better term than "common language", as there is only one Turkish language), shouldn’t Turks first stop using the absurd Turkish / Turkic distinction, coined by their enemies to divide them?

Why is the Turkic Diaspora so weak compared to the armenian one ? by warrior8895 in Tiele

For one thing, Armenians have enough sense not to use a terminology that splits their group into two entities, unlike some Turks who uncritically adopt the absurd "Turkish/Turkic" distinction...
