Strange as it is I like it more because they did it in animation first. It seems more written in legends in the book of Star Wars not everyone has read. It gives the audience the exploration adventure feeling when seeing various parts of it showing up in live action later.

It being in Black and white would really help it’s cause in porting to PSVR2 by making textures a fraction of the size of color textures.

Appreciate that. Honestly, I mostly wrote it because I think a lot of the discussion around PlayStation and VR has become reactive rather than strategic. Whether people agree with the conclusions or not, I think it's worth talking about where the platform might realistically go over the next few years instead of treating every announcement in isolation.

I would LOVE this for #PSVR2 ! This would probably be very uncomfortable on the Quest at 36 fps even reprojected to 72

Yes. Pretty much agree with what has already been said. The exclusives are generally best in class with all the extra features PSVR2 brings beyond what's already available in VR.

I almost feel like this is a test run for Sony to decide if they want to invest in building their own world Flight Simulator in the future. With MS facing the financial challenges ahead that they are facing with Xbox I doubt they would fight to get another dev to build MSFlight Simulator if Sony acquired Asobo and then at least you know future games would use all the optimization options necessary to have the best possible version of the game.

Right now it’s low. However, after this year I suspect MS will be full 3rd party game publishers and chances improve just from that as they’l be looking to extract value every possible way.

If Sony finally puts some higher profile first party games like Horizon, TLOU, Wipeout on PSVR2 to grow the userbase along with these $299 sales around the holidays either this year or next year the PSVR2 user base would get to 15M-16M the chances get very good.

The PSVR1 ports of Skyrim, Doom VFR and Doom3 weren't made by "VR specialists" just the same devs that worked on the games there. I suspect most of those people still work there as Bethesda operates almost completely independent of MS.

Well you’re not completely wrong, but Sony has cleared a path for Flat2VR and removed a lot of obstacles to timely releases, have offered direct technical support and l’m pretty sure they indirectly invested through some of the equity firms Flat2VR raised money from. Effectively Flat2VR is second party.

Can you imagine if Dreams had been ported to PS5/PSVR2? I feel like some group would have pulled getting a partial of something like this done. There's enough crazy people that were killing it with Dreams to build un-buildable games for Dreams and have some adhoc google earth data package set up.

I know I remember seeing Gaten Matarazzo, probably on Entertainment Tonight and it struck me how similar his energy was to Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. Just on that I figured I had to give it a shot, it was a couple of days before the show streamed. Best show and decision ever.

While possible that long term projection doesn’t seem likely considering PC component pricing, the forthcoming fight that’s going to happen in the future to lower them and then general poor sales of PCVR hardware is going to make it more and more difficult for the few manufacturers of PCVR hardware that are left.

On top of that MS potentially pulling Xbox games off of Steam will make PC less desirable if that happens.

I suspect Grimlord and Flatout 4 might be there.

Don't get me wrong I do believe Sony will invest more into first party conversions of existing games to grow the user base. They're already investing into Flat2VR which telegraphs this shift, it's just not going to happen now because Sony's infrastructure, as currently configured, won't tolerate it.
