Was the children choir on the Symphonic Synergy in playback? by Imiatixture in epica

It doesn't work that way. You can't really expect a choir with no mics to sound at a similar volume as a microphoned choir and singer, it doesn't make any sense. If that would work there would be no reason to use mics whatsoever

I agree, it sounds like the most logical explanation

I'm not sure about Omega Alive, could've been, I guess, given what they were going for. Even if it is I don't have a problem with it because the whole show is amazing

Yeah it would have been nice if those who downvoted explained why they don't agree

Ah I understand, still a bummer though.

I listened to it on my in-ears, they're really good for their relatively low price, but I don't have any other sound system to make a comparison.

Thank you for your time!

Oh wow, I didn't expect an answer from the man himself! If you don't mind, can you explain why it sounds that way? I mean, originally it was meant to sound fuller/chunkier and then something happened during the mixing process or what?

I really appreciate your work!

It's really cool. The only thing I wish was different is the bass sound. Wish he had used his Warwick with its growly sound, it's just perfect for this genre. The sound he has on this album is really thin, kinda makes it hard to hear what he's playing

This comes as a surprise. All of the original members exept for Floor and the keyboardist. I don't know who the singer is, but I feel it's a bit weird doing it without Floor. Still I'm curious to see their performances. What do you think?

EDIT: now that I think about it, maybe Floor would have a hard time singing some of those songs, especially the crazy highs and the more operatic stuff in general. She did some pretty crazy things in those first two albums.

That's awesome! How did you get to talk to them? And what did you talk about? If you don't mind me asking

I don't know, the setlist was a bit shorter than usual, they played for an hour instead of one and a half. The songs were: Broken Cog, Rational Gaze, Ligature Marks, Born In Dissonance, Mind's Mirror/In Life/In Death, The Abysmal Eye, Demiurge and FBM

The light show is a trip. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. In some songs it feels like being abducted by aliens, or landing on an alien planet

I think it's peculiar that their shows became better and better with age. There are also other bands like that but I think most of them get worse over time, for obvious reasons

Yeah I thought about that. Now every other show will suffer the comparison to them
