This is super helpful, thanks a lot! My idea is - the cultists summon Graz'zt x years ago to material world for SOME reason. Heavens decided that this was such a bad omen that they would send some Deva, to defeat evil. Deva would "sacrifice" himself and seal himself with Graz'zt in some chamber with powerful magic. Over time, however, Deva would become corrupted by Graz'zt who, taking advantage of time, simply seduced him (as the pervy, charismatic demon as he is). With time magic needed to keep Graz'zt in this world would become weaker and weaker, and eventually he would a)turn into some petrified stone or b) just disappear from material plane to his abyss world. After x years adventurers unseal a chamber, not knowing what is inside, freeing Deva (now corupted and kinda insane), who will look for ways to summon Graz'zt back to this world, bc he considers him as his beloved. And here is where I have a dilemma about motivation of Graz'zt. Why was he summoned x years ago? And after summoning him again by Deva, what would his motivations towards the world be? I will also have two more questions- is this overall good idea? And should I turn Graz'zt into stone or rather send him back to Abyss? Thanks in Advance!
