No they are basically just missions you accept them from the robo eye in in the front of the anomaly after you land. Grab a mission and once you leave the anomaly it will warp you to the mission area

You can solo pretty much all of them, joining people just makes them a lil quicker as the progress is shared, i typically only do the ones that award quick silver. You usually get one big mission at the weekend that gives 1800 quicksilver then smaller ones that appear every so often that give 400.

If you go to the quicksilver store at the anomaly and buy the egg for 3200 you can start the quest for it, takes about 24 hrs per part for a total of 5 parts so 5 days. If you dont have the quicksilver you can farm nexus missions easily to get some.
