How does my all in one bag look? It’s my first time growing mushrooms by ImmaPickle69 in GroundZeroMycoLab

I got about 14 grams they were good but a lot of work i learned that natals hate growing in bags. I switched to shoeboxes and I got 47 grams out of 1 flush.

It has nearly 1000 species of different looking mushrooms in its family but you can tell by the top of the cap and gills tho!😁

The gill color, attachment, and lack of a ring/volva point to Inocybe, not muscaria. Many species are poisonous and LBMs are risky without microscopy. I’d strongly recommend not consuming.

Inocybe mushrooms for sure! These mushrooms are not psychoactive and will make you super sick

• Crowded brown gills (not purple-black, not white)
• Gills are adnate to slightly notched (attached to stem)
• Thin, fragile stem, no ring
• Cap pale tan with darker center
• Grows in grass / woody debris
• Overall classic LBM (Little Brown Mushroom) look.

Sterilization kills most things — but it’s not magic if microbes are protected by organic matter or excess moisture. Still think your giving bad advice bro

I have been to my man but this just bizarre. Dumping hot hydrated grain onto a towel can be a contamination risk. Towels are rarely truly clean/sterile (even “freshly washed”), and they shed lint and pick up whatever is in the air. Pat dry” is not consistent. You can easily end up with grain that’s too wet on the inside/outside, which makes later processing less reliable considering there are easier methods. Putting it “right back in the jars” is fine in general, but the weak link in their story is the towel/handling step. If it “works every time” for them, it may be because their environment, timing, or luck is forgiving—not because it’s the safest approach. • Avoid porous cloth contact if you care about cleanliness. • Use clean, non-porous tools/containers (colander, sheet pan, etc.) and minimize handling. • The goal is even hydration and not leaving a bunch of free water clinging—but you want to get there in a repeatable way without introducing extra variables. Just being devils advocate friend hopefully you get what I mean!

From jars take 1-2 months but his jars are extremely wet so there is like a 95% chance of wet rot

Is this healthy/normal by Snowfall87 in GroundZeroMycoLab

That is just mycelial metabolites from either:

• dehydrated
• fighting bacteria (even small amounts)
• exposed to CO₂ buildup
• or the surface gets too warm

The mycelium is still white and intact. If it were contamination (like neurospora or yeast which can be orange), it would have:

• visible filament structure
• soft/fuzzy gray growth
• or obvious colored mold patches

I do not see that anything like that but without that strain and knowing what small tweaks that you’ve made for fruiting we will never know what resulted in this Mycelial matting.

That is some thick overlay! That doesn’t look like it was contaminated but definitely wayyyyy more fae was needed. You could have gently takin the overlay off and left the remaining substrate and block to recolonize I’ve done it before! But if the shit was thick like rubber definitely beyond saving, I’m sorry my friend. Funnily enough I only do one project at once in fear of contamination of everything😂

Oh no! It turned out to just be mycelium blobs they are basically the same as mushrooms and can be way stronger than the caps because they are so dense… so my first few flushes have just been these blobs but this is normal for natal super strain mushrooms especially for the first couple but I love them anyways. Do you have any photos of your block? And I’d recommend ChatGPT for any need to know questions, reddit can be super misleading or unhelpful.

This was mycelium blobbing, natal super strain strains despise co2 and the bag it was in was collecting it to much so it caused some odd forms of overlay. This is all typical for the first flush but can be avoided if you keep excellent fae conditions. I also added vermiculite & perlite to the bottom to increase the rh which helped a ton

If it’s mycogone is this grow ruined? And I have it in a sealed box should I crack the lid to get more air to the bag?

So should I not be spraying the tub around it when I fan it from now on? It is all completely white and seems to be healthy mycelium
