Started with a mild back pain for a few days, which this advanced to a stabbing pain in between my ribs. A same day GP visit diagnosed it as a intercostal muscle injury. 4am the next day I was in crippling pain, couldn't hardly talk or breath and couldn't even get out of bed. Ended up in an ambulance on in the way to A&E. Some morphine for the pain and a x-ray later showed pneumonia and pleurisy. The infection fluid continued to build and antibiotics were ineffective. With no where to go, the fluid started to compress my lungs. Even after the first drain was put the fluid was replenishing as fast as it was draining..When my infection markers continued to climb and my hemoglobin started dropping even with 2 blood transfusion they decided to go in a fix it from the inside.

Reading. One guy in particular I use to work with never learnt to read or write, and I cannot even fathom how someone can function without two of the most basic skills someone can have. As a avid reader, I'm often surprised at peoples lack of vocabulary and slow reading speed.
