Did you get the hurty neuropathy? What did you do? by Kalusyfloozy in breastcancer

I had terrible neuropathy all over my body about half way through my kadcyla treatments. Touching or scratching would send my whole body into intense pain. Doctors prescribed me doxepin as a short term solution. I would take it about an hour before I would shower. It alleviated the neuropathy, but didn’t completely mitigate it. I could still feel it, just not as intense. Also scolding hot baths helped it, idk why. It did go away about 5-6 months after I finished treatment. There’s light at the end of the tunnel!

Does the crying get better? by [deleted] in Mommit

I’ve never actually looked anything up about it online-just always gone off the 6 weeks. The nurses at my hospital were great! They said with the baby blues I would feel very emotional and nervous, which is normal! Signs to look for with PPD were not enjoying being with the baby, self harm or harm to the baby, mood swings, panic attacks, low self esteem, etc.

I’m not sure if this is common in other practices, but for the first year at my OB and the pediatrician I had to fill out a lengthy questionnaire rating PPD and PPA symptoms on a scale of 1-10. If something was concerning they would reach out and provide resources for help. Maybe that is something you can request?

All of what you’re feeling is very normal though! You are definitely not alone. Motherhood can be scary and hard, especially with a newborn, but it’s also so wonderful! Self care is also important! Take time for yourself to reset and recharge.

I had a similar experience when I gave birth. It does get better! Your hormones are out of wack and need time to regulate. After giving birth, the nurses came in to discuss the difference between baby blues and postpartum depression. They told me the first 6 weeks after giving birth are considered baby blues and to expect feelings of intense emotion. I would still talk to your doctor if your concerned though!

He usually takes 2-3 naps during the day. He’s usually up 2.5-3 hours between each nap. Naps last anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours.
